Rush Limbaugh Saved by John Kerry

VampirVampir Member Posts: 4,239

by this time this week we could have successfully shamed Rush even in the eyes of conservatives if it wasn't for john kerry making his god damn comments on soldiers in Iraq. Moving the media attention from Rush, which he might not have recovered from even in conservitives eyes, onto the just as stupid comments by john kerry.

congratulations John ive been waiting for Rush to crucify himself for 2 years and you fuck it up......

Not only that but wait for this comment to pop up in basically every
single Republican commercial on T.V. that and the fact that the
republicans own basically everything(even Air America is owned by
ClearChannel.) media wise...so watch how they spin this.

    Ugh, we have no chance.

John Kerry I really think is a republican mole because he also imo blew the last presidential election and seemed to say that stupid comment right before an election when the GOP is really tainted from the scandal's/Iraq. I also know that Kerry was in the Skull&Bones with GW Bush and alot of speculation about that group being tied to other "secret society's" which alot of people think plot world affairs.imageRush limbaugh is just an idiot that other morons listen to and telling Fox he fakes his disease shows how stupid he is.

And you respect freedom of speech?  Right...okay.

Rush wasn't getting nearly as much media attention about what he said anyway, because his coments were directed at one person, and misguided as they may have been, were not nearly as inflamitory as what Kerry said...so comparing the two is a bit rediculous.

Rush was already crucified when his love for Oxycontin came to light. Not that I blame him for the habit, but I fail to see how this man keeps any credibility.

Because people tend to be forgiving in nature, and understanding that people easily fall into such addictions, especially in show business.  How many times has that one actor been checked into drug rehab?...I forget his name for some reason, the guy that was in Allie McBeal for awhile...anyway, people will forgive and forget, and comedians will continue to make fun of them for the rest of time...The fact that Rush was addicted to pain killers really doesn't change the fact that the man is very educated and has a talent for public speaking...say what you want about his beliefs, you will not change that Rush Limbaugh knows his stuff.

He was caught in Fort Lauderdale airport a few months ago with Viagra and it was found out he had just come back from a "Single Man Swingers" resort that has hookers for the guests.

You're right, that totaly renders him unable to think rationally about politics.

he might be a sexual deviant...anything that he does in his private life is his business...you are a democrat, you should realize that.

Does that damage his credability?  Probably, but I don't listen to Rush anyway...his Bush fanboyism bothers me.

as conservative as I am even I was offended by what Rush did, but you have to admit...using a disease to gain attention is overdoing it a bit.
Now, I'm not saying I agree with Rush, I'm saying that I know why he said it. It was still wrong, and I was still offended by it (and by God you guys know I'm the most conservative republican out there).

Now for Kerry. Wow...stupid. That's possibly the worst thing I've heard from any politician thus far, and there have been some very bad things. Now that people have seen his real side they may not like him that much because of his speaking capabilities...if only we could see a politician as a whole before elected. It's a great thing he wasn't elected into office.

That's just my opinion. Please don't flame me, I'm just stating a point in an open thread.

I agree with everything except using a disease to gain attention FOR the disease is not overdoing it. I personally don't think that Fox was faking anything in the interview with Couric. He let his guard down so that the rest of the world could see him as a human with a disease instead of an actor with a flawless image. It took guts to do what he did. I applaud him for it. Now if he was using the disease just to garner attention for himself, it would have been different. But what benefit has he given himself by doing so? He's lost a good chance of ever being used by any Hollywood studio due to insurance reasons alone. but he has raised awareness for all the "average Joes" out here that have the disease and nobody campaigning for them. Now they know they are not alone in their fight for research and, hopefully, a cure. Sorry, I got a little long winded there::::01::

I don't have any issues with what Rush did.  By coming out in public support of that bill Fox put a target on his chest, albiet a moving target  :).  Where Fox screwed up was in admitting that he never even read the legislation.  How can he possibly come out on TV and support something he never read???  Yeah, well, celebrities do it all the time and they should all have cheap shots taken at them.  The vast majority are just rich idiots that think they should be part of the ruling class.

Now for Kerry.  He has to be one of the worst "politicians" out there.  I swear, that man has at least 3 sides to every story.

It's takes some really special people to believe Kerry was referring to anyone other than Bush.  I can't stand the guy, but I knew who he was really talking about in his comment. It would make absolutely no sense at all for him to say that about a geoup of people he once belonged to.

ya but a politician if unclear in any way  in their remarks they might as well have said what it gets twisted too with the way the media is....

The very same...and about the Iraqi thing...kill ratio is something often talked about in war, so I fail to see what's wrong with him saying that we should have a high kill/death ratio with our soldiers in Iraq.  THings like that are always taken and measured by governments to guage how well the soldiers are being trained...I doubt that he meant that for every american killed we should line up the Iraqis and shoot 1000 of them...now THAT is taking something out of context.

What Kerry said doesn't require a special mind to think he was talking about the people in the military...I don't think that an entire country would get pissed off if you had to be stupid to misinterpret what he said, especially considering he didn't even mention Bush in the process of the joke...and considering past coments made by Kerry(namely the things he said in 1972, it doesn't seem his mind has changed) it's not difficult to see why people would think he was talking about...well...what he said he was talking about.

I agree, and I think Kerry went and acknowledged this a little while ago? But yeah, if you were sitting there listening to his speech, you would have understood what was going on, but definitely, taken out of context and put into the media whirlwind, he came across as a 'troop-basher' (of course, the real irony is that if he were acutally talking about troops, he would be calling himself stupid).
