Is Huxley a copy?

warrenhuiwarrenhui Member Posts: 13

Im not being prejudice or anything. But you have to consider my points.

First of all Webzen's SUN storyline is pretty much Star Wars medieval style.

Okay I know many people don't even know Blizzard's upcoming game: StarCraft: Ghost (maybe cuz of WoW), anyways if you get a chance to watch SCG's trailer and Huxley's trailer....they are pretty much the same...

Plus if you've played the old RTS StarCraft you know the 'woman' related to the Zerg (or whatever) she's excatly like the 'white-eyed-control-the-aliens' in Huxley.

Maybe it's just me...But I'm thinking Webzen is running out of ideas...BUT still it's cool for Xbox360 to connect to PC with the new Live Anywhere. Believe me it's going to happen...Bill Gates has said it. Plus you could have tried it out in the latest E3.

LAST NOTE: I'm talking about the second video because I've watched 2 cinematics.

Please tell me your thoughts

The gameplay seems to be different imo but I do agree 100% on the "zerg" type NPCs that are in Huxley.

However, if you did not know, Blizzard has scrapped the Starcraft: Ghost project.

Yeah, now that I really consider that they are pretty much the same.

I wouldn't say necessarily copied. Then again.. Starcraft is still a pretty deciding force in Korea.

lol, I understand your scepticism as webzen has produced BS til now but this game looks amazing - you cant copy an amazing game lol Just caus the trailers look similar doesnt mean anything.

    -- Edit --

I never heard of the other game you said so I went to look it up ... turns out blizzard.com hasnt heard of it either...

I sure hope so...it would be nice to see Blizzard/vivendi get its IP ripped off for a change.

Err?  Are you serious?  I'd wager to bet nearly anyone that plays games with even a semi-regularity has heard of StarCraft: Ghost.  Its been in development for over 4 years, and has chagned developers at least once.  There have also been more recent rumors that this game may never even be released..but I think those rumors have circled a few times.  Either way, starcraft: ghost is nothing new, and is in fact very old.

Anything is a copy of anything if you look hard enough. If you think about it, Huxley is just a copy of Final Fantasy because it has a story behind it and even more a copy of Halo because they both have guns. If you think about it, is there really any need for 4 billion people in the world? I mean they're all humans, that makes them pretty much the same. And what's the deal with King Author, I mean, it's not like he was the only Briton or something...

My point is that things are to be defined by their differences, not their similarities.

Blizzard has cancelled Ghost because wow is thier baby now thanks to the millions of lemmings that play it daily and the farmers alone feed their need for refreshed sales. Thier afraid that if they bring out ghost and it blows itll show that the giant can still make bombs as good as SOE and EA.

I would personally love to have a SC MMO i loved the series, same as WC series. So to me it just makes sense to do it. Time will tell i guess but i sincerly hope they do bring it back.

Man, everyone knows Ghost looked like a bad game from the start.
Actually, Huxley could be bringing alot of new things if they lesson to their players and keep the game with new items every month. New items and quest and boomb you got something that will keep the game good. Then like they can do like a graphics upgrade to make the game look even sweeter with a patch or something.

What most people dont understand is Starcraft AND warcraft are almost carbon copies of Warhammer and Warhammer 40K read the story behind the 2, most of it is almost the same besides the names, even the art style blizzard uses and they admited this was heavily borrowed from games workshop.

And just how the hell does it resemble anything in Planetside....

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. It doesn't.  Unless you count the fact that it's set in the future and you shoot guns?

I believe the comparison lies in the Game Concept....not realy so much the look or story.

They are Both online only Shooters, in a persistant world, with hundreds of other players and feature charicter development. The Comparisons pretty much end there; however, is having a game *similar* to planetside with more updated options and looks that is NOT run by sony necessarily a bad thing? Hell, If Sony would just sell planetside to some other developer i'm sure many people would jump at the opportunity to return.image

Webzen is inspired by ideas. They got some of their ideas from  "Brave New World". Some of the enviroment is almost exact as the landscapes in real-life. Webzen doesn't copy. They just take ideas from a bunch of things.
