11/2/05 was the day Julio "Tora! Tora!" Torres posted his NGE announcement letter, and suddenly what we thought was a wacky post on the Jedi forum became reality.
I'd say by 11/16/05 at least 50,000 subscribers had cancelled.

The game is in it's worst condition ever, worst press, worst percieved state even so by the Producers, Smedley and Freeman, Raph and yet he says this..

They both are, although Obraik is a somewhat better one, in the old school style of trollism. I wouldn't give either one top marks however.

I don't know, Obraik when down about 10 rungs with me on his credits... He posted in the "Current thread" that all the things said but one line at the Austin Game conference were specualtion and it is not true.
I bet they would love to hear that on thier site about that report lol... Also I guess that Makes Smedleys emails fake to some of us and anything bad said about the NGE false.

You're right, neither gets top marks, and Ob can troll with the best of them, but at least Ob asks questions, and attempts to defend a position. He can troll, but at least he participates in discussion.
NGE won't exist 6 months from now much less 2 years.

That's true.. especially with things that are subjective rather than objective.
Of course its hard to have the "objective" facts (which we'll call .. numbers)
When you can't get a reality subscriber base out of SOE for various points in time.
Altho since they do have "80 percent vet retention" things must be just fine!!

I did, your trying yet again.... stop.. you will fail and lose. This is not a debate of what was said, this is a matter of fact. Sorry, I trust them, I trust Smedley emailing me and saying the same thing.
I also trust it when I log in and see the proof first hand, then looking back and Smedleys email and confirming the state of the game.
I do not need a degree in stats to see the game is shot... sorry, a monkey can see that.

I was kind of thinking it may very well still be around in six months. I mean look at some of SOE's other games. I'm convinced they can drag a lot of dead mass behind them to pad the station access offer.
Also, compare NGE to what else is on the market. Suddenly it's not as bad when you don't compare it to Pre-CU. It's still trash but you know what I mean.
(I won't bother with Pirrg's other post though because... well yeah, everyone but Pirrg already knows.)
My sub was from the 26th to 26th so I had to play through Nov 26 05.
The only good time I had in the NGE was making SOE refund me the money I paid for the ToOW. I had to send about 5 emails and keep on top of them, but I got ToOW cash back.
A small victory is still a victory, being the times as they are, I take them where I can get them
