When will Darkfall be released? We are hoping for a Q1 2003 release of Darkfall. Again, delays happen, but we are working hard to get Darkfall ready for release. The only thing we can say for sure, is that Darkfall wont be released till it is finished and running stable
hope this helps

They are still not ready to test this thing outside of the developmet studio yet. It has got a long way to go. I wouldnt be suprised if we see Age Of Conan first

the reason beta didnt happen last year was cause of hosting issues so they decided to get more features in and get beta up this year and release will be in 2008 as long as nothing majorerly bad happens during beta but it will be released no matter what just when is the question but beta should start by end of december
Oh boo hoo! An MMORPG that's better than nearly all current ones isn't going to get released within 2 years in buggy, grind format..... Show some patience and go and do something else, or perhaps research into how long development of these types of games take before you whine, that seems to be the main weakness of vaporware trolls really, it's obvious they just jump on the first recent thing they see and don't know anything else.
Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.
"An MMORPG that's better than nearly all current ones".
uhmmmm WHAT?
How on earth is darkfall better than anything? If anything it is WORSE than any current ones considering no one has ever even played it and it is borderline 7 year old vaporware.
I think your logic is a bit skewed there my friend.
I've heard a lot about this game being the next best thing, though when I looked it up I couldn't see anything of a release date. The ideas behind the game are cool, but I'd really be wary of letting the hype get my hopes up. Look at past games that were over hyped....DnL anyone?
dnl didnt have the money and they was con artist and the features thata re in are already in delays helped with that at least thats what dev journal 13 said *its almsot a feature complete build* DNL i didnt even bother with
I don't want to write the same thing twice, so i will just copy paste what i already wrote in the other post. It covers as an answer to your post just as well..

"This is in no way the same kind of situation as with Darkfall - in this situation the Dev team was making 2 games simultaneously, and suddenly realized that they would not be able to make Gods and Heroes a good as other similar MMOs in development. They therefore concentrated their entire forces on the other MMO instead. This is a case of not having the required ressources, since that would be all it would take to make Gods and Heroes up to par. Manpower! Not skill.
Having said that, Darkfall is, when looking at the rule-set a completely different game, catering to a completely different target group. -Darkfall will be a somewhat niche MMO. Darkfall is not meant to be able to compete with games like WoW, since that is a completely different playerbase (care-bear, children, easy-to-play, no challenge, etc.) -Darkfall is first of all meant for the more mature and older audience that back in 1999 played pre-Trammel Ultima Online. This is supposed to be the core target group of the game. Everyone else that would like to play Darkfall is in the eyes of Aventurine just icing on the cake! (Since I am just talking out of my general knowledge about economics and marketing - and don't have any insider's knowledge about Darkfall, employees of Aventurine should feel free to correct me, am I wrong! )
Sorry bout that - /ramble off
EDIT:
And by the way - as a supplimentary comment to my other post:
One of the reasons Darkfall will attract customers is that it in some very interesting areas is the most interesting and unique MMO-in-development out there. These areas are, among others, crafting and decay (which in terms mean game economics) as well as full pvp/loot and skill-based advancement. These things will be able to make the game economy so dynamic that no inflation will ever be bound to happen! This way the devs will never have to bring out another expansion with even more über-1337 gear making every other gear almost obsolete:
You could look at it this way: The devs of Darkfall make a LOT of VERY hard work finetuning an entire DYNAMIC economy to be able to run by itself once the game is done, and they will then be able to concentrate more on other ingame stuff, compared to WoW-like MMOs, that do it the other way around, making the easy solution, making a STATIC economy, where they will have to keep adding new and better content for people not to lose interest! They took the easy way, and therefore have to do a lot of hard work forever, since the economy is not running itself! The Darkfall guys have, by doing it the hard way, made the game more able to run by itself, without them neding to continually keep adding content! STATIC content! Embrace the dynamics offered in Darkfall, it will rock you silly! -And if you'd understand the comlexity of a DYNAMIC economy, compared to a STATIC one, you would understand excactly why Darkfall is taking so bloody long to develop!
Sorry about my ramblings and rantings, but all these unintelligent troll-posts about darkfall being vaporware only shows that the posters don't have the brains to grasp the complexity of developing dynamic content! Unfortunately they also don't have the brains of grasping how truly wonderful it would be for the world to give birth to the first fully dynamic game ever. (and for the Eve fanboys: Yes Eve IS dynamic, but its not a game! It's a spreadsheet with graphics!)"

They're ambitiously aiming to launch a beta by the end of this year.
OP; I believe your topic is in the wrong game forum, please try again.

I'll be back at the end of 2008 to ask the same question I guess.
