    a good free mmorpg is going to be www.planeshift.com the graphics are way better than any other free game out there. i am not sure when it will be released but check out the site anyway

    Eternal Lands (www.eternal-lands.com) is an excellent MMORPG I have been playing for the last couple days, it's completely free and it's pritty fun.

    Planeshift can already be played, but it's not really fun because hardly anyone plays it yet. But it's got really good graphics that rival pay mmorpgs.

    there not as good graphic wise but don't take forever to download if you don't have fst connection
    PS. tibia is really hard to get on during the day

    There's a lot of good free games, sure the graphics might not be hot on most of them but there good. An example is eternal worlds. Of course you can't compare them to most pay games because those are for profit.

    One word. Tibia. And it is great because you can pay for it and most do. It is so popular you have 16,000 people playing at once, and it'd be way more if the server limits were higher (when a new server is introduced it fills up quickly)

    The gameplay and community is 10/10, the gamemasters and counsellors are not hired and are real players, and people are friends with them. Best game ever.

    sigh...if only it were the year 2002-2003..there used to be so many good free mmorpg's.....nowadays all of em suck.

    You honestly can't expect free MMORPGs anymore.  I used to...but I was a younger person then.  The only US game that looks good to me right now is gonna be CoH...and maybe I'll look at WoW.  Anyway, Fairyland is currently undergoing free trials, and it's kinda fun.  http://www.fairyland.com.my I think...

    No free MMORPG's are any good at this point.  None of them grasp the concept like WoW has, or EQ or other top p2p games on the market.

    Nor I think there ever will be a good game that you can download and play for free.  About guild wars, i know it has no monthly fee, but you have to buy the game, therefore not free.  Now by free you mean no monthly fee, then yes Guild Wars looks very promising.

    I've been playing MUONLINE for a while now and i've found it to be very fun. Although it'll eventually go to pay to play you can enjoy it for a while to come, since it won't be happening anytime soon. http://muonline.com

    Theres also Priston Tale but personally i find muonline much better. http://pristontale.com But if you don't like level grinding hacking and slashing, then don't download them, if you don't mind it because it's free, then give them a shot.

    I also recommend Fairyland .  It's cartoonish graphics are "eyepleasing" and the soundtrack is relaxing (IMO).  It's a great game to play after a long's day work as it doesn't stress you out like some mmo's do.  There's a ton of stuff to do and the player community is great too.

    Mu Online is hackers galore....  There are all kinds of hackers in that game.  The content is actually pretty good.  I remember one time this guy hacked into the Mu Online database for all the account names and passwords and posted them on the freeboard.  It was crazy ten of thousands of people lost there items because of him.  I quit that game as a lvl 112 DK when i got hacked by that guy... 

     

    It was actually kind of funny whenever i logged on i would think to myself my char is gonna be naked...  Besides from the lack of attention from Webzen, the hackers, the KS'ers, and the griefers its actually quite alright

    One possibility is you could join an illgeal private server where you can play for free which i was doing for awhile now.

    It's not as good but it is pretty great.  RO's music was so good me and my friends used to ride around to a burned CD.  Lovely compilation of stuff there. :D  Fairyland's music is very relaxing, though, and very fitting.  The graphics are mostly a good bag, (I wish the sprites were sharper, like RO, and the game had a wider range of colors...and more outfit customization, hehe,) but I've never really gotten into the community.  Most everyone you meet has a name like "Hotstuf17" or "Gokuluvr," which is particularly a turn off for me 'cuz I like to get into the atmosphere of cute/relaxing games like that.  :P
