My internet speed isn't near fast enough to play games online, but I love the experience MMORPGs offer. So I was wondering if there are games out there like some MMORPGs that do not have to be played online (and have a fairly in depth offline too)? I can't seem to find any, so if you could point me somewhere, that would be great!

Minions of Mirth
It's an mmorpg that can be played both online and offline.
another worth consider is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, while not exactly an mmorpg, it has a lot of elements you'd find in one.(very open-ended, massive world, and very customizable character)
have ever played! Good luck with it! You can also try Neverwinter
Nights but the campaign it' s a bit boring... and the game is outdated

It is a great game, although its a shame it really could have been great great. If they would have worked on the bugs alot.
But it is a great game, I would love to see them do to this game like they did to Oblivion.
That would be my pick for ya, play Oblivion
Pick any single player RPG, they are all better then any MMO, RPG speaking. The downer is they are single player.
I played Oblivion and Vampire Bloodlines recently. No MMO can touch them. Make sure you download the patch for bloodlines before you play it, as someone noted, it released with a boatload of bugs on board. NeverWinter Nights 2 also just released and its getting pretty good reviews (no surprise there)
Also you might want to look into some of the older MMO's many were designed/made for 56k modem connections like Asheron's Call, Ultima Online and Everquest. I played all 3 on dial up back in the days before high speed internet connections were around. Graphic are kinda yucky but in all honestly some of these games are far superior to anything released in the last 3 or 4 years.
I can't believe that no one has pointed out that if it's not online then it's not an MMORPG, just a RPG.
With that said, Phantasy Star Universe has both a full single player RPG that you might like.
But FYI it's not an MMO if it isn't online.

NWN2 seems to be shaping up to have a similar kind of feel in regards to character and party dynamics as P:T did. Not nearly as good a story, but fun nonetheless.

Fallout 1, Fallout 2, Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
A bit dated graphics etc (2d isometric view) but great gameplay that still holds up well.
Fallout 1 and 2 are scf-fi, after the bomb, sort of like Mad Max.
Arcanum is Fantasy and Steampunk (as the name suggests).

Another vote for Elder Scrolls: Oblivion here. I'm playing through it right now. It is an offline, single player game, but it's as close to a single player MMO that I've played.
It has a huge world, that can be explored for hours and hours if you like. You can craft potions and spells. There are "faction" quests so to speak if you join certain quilds in the game. Plus, it's a skill based game, so you can create your character however you like.
It can keep you busy for a long time if it ends up being to your liking.
Have faith in God, believe in antimatter.
it's a single player rpg, but the game takes place in an MMO.
