The customization was insane! Finally, now i can really make my char stand out!
I was 50/50 on the fighting. I dont really know if i will like it, but i cant judge now without trying it first
Well, from what I have seen, the movement and combat is similar to RYL 1 & 2. WASD, and click to swing or shoot. You have to aim.
Its the skilldrum that I am curious about. It is a realtime MMORPG, so its going to feel different.
If your curious to play something similar to this, DDO and RYL have options that allow you to set-up the game to move and fight like it would in TCoS. The skill system will be different, but the practice will give you some thought on how Realtime combat in this type of MMORPG is.
First of all, we are amazed by the amount of competition entries. While these numbers make us very happy, we will make sure that we can give all the people that didn't win a fair chance to join the open beta when it starts at the end of this year/early 2007.
We are currently finalizing our servers in the US. Since Spellborn requires optimal server connections, we don't want to put the non EU contest winners on a European beta server. This will mean that all 250 contest winners will be allowed to join the beta at the same time as soon as all US servers are up and running and are tested by are QA department.
Expect your client and beta login before the end of November. This might be a disappointment for some (or many) of you, for which we apologise, but we have worked on this project for years and we want to show it to you in its best possible form.
We expect to get the full list of winners from the mmorpg.com staff within the next few days. Winners can expect more details and information via email within 2 weeks.
For those of you that won a beta invite, feel free to send me (Freeze) a pm on our website (www.tcos.com) if you have any questions or comments. On a side note; we will replace the client on fileplanet before the invites are send out. It will save you a lot of time and bandwidth to not download the current client.
Thanks again for understanding and i hope to see you all soon in the world of Spellborn.
Thanks for the official word, Freeze. While it's certainly not what we wanted to hear (we want in right now of course!) it's good to know what's going on, why it's happening this way and what to expect at this point. I guess this means we can stop watching the last few unconfirmed contestant spots. /sigh. hehehehe...
What I'd like to ask - I'll PM this to you as well - is could those of us who have won the contest could have access to the beta forums while we wait for the US servers to be finalized? I know that's bound to be tied to having a beta key so it may not be something the TCoS staff want to deal with for now, but it never hurts to ask

Closed beta. There is only one server right now, and it's in Europe. When they put up the servers in the US, we'll be the first to join.
If they stated that all 250 beta winners will be part of the u.s. beta I'm pretty sure regardless of where you live you'll be a part of that beta and not the european one. However you could always attempt to contact them directly and see if they'd make exceptions.
The European winners will be part of the European Beta and the US winners will be part of the US Beta. Since the US server is in the process of being launched we decided to invite all 250 winners at the same time. So no head start for the Europeans, but a fair chance for all. Hope this clears things up.
