If I were you I would pick the one that is more different from the other mmog you are playing. If, say, you are playing Lineage 2 I would pick EQ2, if you are playing WoW I would pick Eve. The games are just too different to directly compare them apart from the usual fan-counter-"discussion".
LOL I love that fanbois description for EvE. You are given a shovel, well let me tell yah the options arent limitless there. Actually your analogy makes it seem as if the game has very little options. Thing is theres not that many things to do in EvE, mine, pvp, missions, trade. Oh the limitness of it all. Considering 3 out of 4 of those are lame slow and boring there is only 1 saving grace for EvE , PvP.
It's better be hated for who you are, than loved for who you aren't.

So uhm, what options do other MMO's give you then... oh yeah "grind". If you really want to put it that way no game really is any fun. Oh look in pacman you can "move around" yay......
I don't know how YOU played the game but every time I log on we have PVP, we have wars, we have camps, we have multi billion worth of assets that need to be moved through VERY hostile teritory, we smack, we laugh when getting killed, we chat to our ingame enemies laughing about how stupid we were, we laugh at the logonski's and logoffski's, we cry at node drops. We marvel at the new cool bits that will be introduced into the game real soon (for free i might add). We cry when we lose assets, we laugh when we destroy someone else's assets. We take the moral high ground against piracy but we'll also grab us a few noobs when nobody is watching.

I sure like how you take my description of every asian MMO and apply it to the only game out there (that I'm aware of) that doesn't have mind numbing gameplay.

Thats because your a very biased EVE fanboi. I'm not.
Right now I have played Eve for about a month and am enjoying the hell out of it, and I havent even joined a corp yet. I need to but I am just soloing around right now. I even went in and changed my first review of the game because I was wrong about it. I recommend it more than EQ2 at the moment.

Honestly I can't figure out the love for Eve on here. I have tried the game a number of times, and just find it boring. Everquest 2 is a fun game. You need decent system specs to enjoy it. But it is a fun game. But to post asking Eve or EQ2 is a bit open ended. They are totally different games. What are you looking for mostly?

Well, you've been around long enough to learn it is a Niche game. I'm sure more people would like it if there was a way to see the .... I guess it could be called "end game" content without knowing anyone who plays.
I've been playing games like EVE for years, even before EVE came out. I hate it when games are like mind boggeling complicated at the beginning and you don't understand something. But usually games get alot better once you grasp everything that is going around.
Right now I'm playing a text game that's really complicated: pardus.at But, I'm starting to think that game just sucks, lol.

No, it probably because you've never played EVE.
Actually I did, but, forgive me for having an opinion that is diffrent then yours, but clicking an enemy, activation a weapon, wait 20 seconds to kill the enemy, then another 20~30 seconds flying to just pick up the loot is pretty mind numbing to me.

Yeah, in a newbie ship that's how it works.
In a bigger ship you have to watch your distance first thing. If youy're not getting closer or farther away, then you need to use your Afterbuners or MicroWarp drive.
Then you need to watch your Capacitor, if your capacitor goes empty, you're dead. You either need to get your NOS working, shoot some capacitor juice in there, or deactivate some of your moduels.
Then depending on what kind of tank you're set up as, you need to watch your sheilds and armor. Both sheild and armor reps need LOTS of capacitor juice, so there it's making the capacitor even more important. You can't start your rep too soon or too late or you die. You run out of juice, you die.
That's just NPCs, that's nothing like PVP... which is what the game is based off of. PVP, you need to react to all the little quarks the other player throws in... unlike NPCs that are predictable.
Also, that's just the act. Getting ready for the act and developing your own setup, or trying a new setup requires an hour or more of researching (no, not ingame researching... researching can be done using the forums, or just looking at the different equipment ingame. There is no skill or anything that you need) what you need to use and what setups will fit. What weapons would be most effective, given your Powergrid and CPU and the equipment that is nessiary.
Like I said. You've never actually played EVE. Logging on killing an NPC in a n00bie ship, logging off and going "this game sucks" isn't playing.
Then if you're REALLY smart, you can become a trader. I can't get the hang of it, it's extremely complicated till you get your route going. The act of trading, bringing one thing to some place else is pretty mind numbing if you're going through high sec space (low sec is a different story), but getting a single trade route requires you to think more than the whole time you lvl from 1-60 in WoW.
Oh, then there's playing the market. Which I'm really good at. You don't actually have to DO anything for that, other than setup buy and sell orders. It too requires alot of thought, trying to be smarter than other players.
Sorry if the game is too complicated for you. But, that doesn't make it "Mind Numbing".
Oh, then if you're using drones for Combat... it brings it up to a whole new level. You have 5 of these little buggers you need to worry about. Then you got a whole bunch of little ships from the NPCs that you need to worry about getting too close, and you need to sick your drones on them. Etc.
Yeah. EVE is totally mind numbing "point click walk away kill NPC"
I rat 0.0 in a ship that costs 3mil with equipment that costs about 1mil. The skills for the ship and the skills for everything on the ship can be obtained on a 2 week trial.
My bigger ships have single peices of equipment that cost 5x than that whole ship costs.
It took more thought to write this post than it takes you to grind from any LVL X to LVL X in any of your asian grindfests.

Why exactly do you keep bringing up asian MMO's? they have absolutely nothing to do with it. is it that you can't win an arguement, so you attack something else?
but as you explained, EVE is VERY slow and mind numbing.

Chatting , Marveling and luaghing and crying oh the features galore !!!

Everquest is a good game in my opinion. It is also a full time game as in if you want to progress you need to play a few hours a day in order to see the reall gems in the game. As such it is a level grind game.
Eve is a game that can be played part time and still have you advance with even the power gamers. It is however not a level grind game as it has no levels. And it is dificult to learn to play and it can be very slow at first.
EvE, level and quest based games are mind numbing. I feel like a two year old being led around by his hand because I am to stupid to figure out anything by myself playing games like eq, eq2, wow, SWG NGE ect...
Originally posted by Gameloading is it that you can't win an arguement, so you attack something else? but as you explained, EVE is VERY slow and mind numbing.
Nope, just the games you play. Same can be said for WoW or any western game out right now as well.
I don't think you understand what "mind numbing" means.

I heard about people getting into a position of trust in WOW guilds and absc In short, they gained their trust, and stabbed them in the back in a rather spectacular manner. A most deplorable crime, but you gotta admit, you can't do that in any other MMO.
I heard about people absconding with the guild bank in WOW rather often, back when I played it was rare enough to be noticed but 'unprecedented' is a bit over the top. It's harder to pull off in some MMOs simply because there isn't a hanger that you assign roles to, one person ends up being the bank so it's not easy to get ahold of the guild bank as a latecomer. Well, unless the guild shares the account among officers (which is pretty common from what I've heard).
But I don't see how it's impossible for someone in another game to make an alt, join a corp/guild/clan/etc., get to a position where they're trusted, then grab everything they have access to and run off while mocking people on the forums. I guess you could say that the 'blowing up the corp leader' bit is impossible in most MMOs since PVP is often more RVR than freeform, but blowing her up is really more symbolic than anything else since her ship was just a tiny fraction of the $30 billion.
I would rather stick with EQ2 then EVE. Although, EVE gets pretty old after a while.. at least it did to me. EQ2 I didn't really like the gameplay.. but if I had to chooes between the 2 of them.. EQ2.
Personally.. Eve is just to different for me like ill tell you the truth i love starting a new game hitting lvl 5 but Eve so ....not normal MMO
EQ2 has really showed me something, it started off being probably the worst game ive ever spent 50 bucks on then as they got updates and expansions wow they community continues to grow and WoW is to addicting EQ2 i can step away from.
