    Definately going to let a couple of my friends know.  They were fence sitting about L2.

    This game was destroyed by NCsoft turning a blind eye to botting for 3 Chronicles.  The community of honest players has dwindled dramatically since it was released and they are probably a year behind in leveling to the dominant population (i.e. botters, powerlevelers, etc).  Even if you wanted to bot a character up to be competitive you probably couldn't because NCsoft has recently decided to start enforcing their TOS.  Presumedly, the change of policy is the result of negative publicity on NCsoft's tacit approval of botting and the steady decline in subscribers.  I wouldn't recommend anyone wasting 15 minutes in this game.  If you are legit player you will be highly uncompetive with the dominant population(i.e. botted up toons) and if you are a botter you will probably get yourself banned trying to make a competive toon.

    Its not working for me it says when i enter the key:That serial code is apparently already in use. Please verify that it was entered correctly, and contact customer service if you still have a problem. And with my brothers account it says:

    Error: Wrong Type of Code

    You have a code which is apparently from an older version of the game and is not available to activate a full retail product. You are still able to use your code to create a game account, but you need a full retail code to activate the account once created.

    Please contact support@plaync.com with your serial code and PlayNC account name if you believe you have gotten this message in error.

    Ohh I didnt now you had to buy the game first i thought they finally made a free trail for this game

    I play legit, and although I am a semi-low level (main reason is because I always made new characters when I would come back to Lineage 2, quit after 3 months of playing and then join back later and make a new character again. This is the first time I came back starting with one of my old characters.), leveling has gotten A LOT easier. TRUST ME. I leveled from 39-42 in 3 days while before it took me like a week to get from 29-30 (even with my limited time). Also, a lot of unlegit players are getting banned, I am on Erica and I heard that a lot of high level players got banned since they had cheated. 

    BTW, In the next expansion called Interlude, they adding fortresses which are like castles except for smaller clans so many more will get to have the action at castle seiging.

    Also, I tried making a trial account and it worked for me, try making another account and getting one maybe?

    Also, this is a free trial, you do not need to buy the game first. You click "Add games" and then you get the 14 day trial, then once that is over you need to buy a cd-key to play and then pay monthly.

    what the...why? Europeans play on the same server as US players, why are they not allowed to the free trial? Nice going mmorpg.com/NCsoft.

    I directed two of my friends interested in L2 to create accounts here so they could sign up for the trial.   About 10 mins ago I got calls from both of them.  Neither one of them can get Trial keys to work.  It kept asking them for a Retail Serial code or something like that.   So I decided to give it a try myself (with a fresh PlayNC account).  I have the same problem.  Seems alot of people are having it as well.   I do not think the codes work, or someone made a serious mistake with them.

    PS: Yes the Retail Serial Code requires a box copy of L2 either bought from store, or online.  If you have to buy a box, it's not necessarily a free trial.  Unless someone or something is screwing up the Trial Keys.   But as neither NCsoft nor MMORPG.com (not that I hold MMORPG.com responsible) have bothered to comment on it.  Which leads me to believe that you are expected to buy a retail box or serial key online.

    The trial worked for me I already had a account with game keys on it (not L2 of course) so it is working at least it seems to be. Hope you all are able to get in soon and try it out.

    I have the same problem as Roin. So i do the "add game" thing and input the code. Then i go to "activate" to activate my lineage 2 game. Then it asks for another serial..retail..code. So i put in the free trial code since thats the only code i have, and then wonderful.......says it's already in use. So...

    My hopes of playing this game is shattered. Back to the anti-depressants i suppose.

    If you already have a L2 in your account it wont work.

    NB: if you read the print at the bottom of the offer, you need a retail key and a vaild payment methord as well as the trail key (as some people have descovered), in essence you need to buy the game before you get your 'free' trial

    Yeah it's pretty stupid you have to buy the game for a "free" trail

    If you already have a L2 in your account it wont work.

    Damn it to hell. That's all i have to say.

    Actually, what it says is:

    ***Each serial code is a one time use and cannot be reused or transferred. The Free Trial code may not be used with an active Lineage II game account. This serial code is not for resale. Lineage® II trial accounts require activating with a retail serial code and valid payment information at the end of the trial period to continue game-play.     Therefore, as Admin already said, there was no credit card required as he understood it from NCsoft. So NCsoft screwed this up. And if NCsoft doesn't fix it to work as described, then their "free trial" should be removed because it is blatant false advertisment.

    Did the ncsoft master account thing without a problem including the CD code. When i go to install the game that i DL'd it asks me for CD 1 lol...
