How are you passing by without WoW?

Its been 14 hours since the WoW servers shutdown for maintence, how are you holding up?

    I have a questions.. do all mmos have weekly maintances? I play GW for over a year and they don't have so I tought that when you pay 15$ a month then servers shouldn't have that much downtime..

    Downtime varies greatly by the game's developing. Eve use to have a 1
    hour daily downtime which I thought so easier on the schedual than
    rolling gone all patchdays like wow.



    Of course other games don't have them at all

    You can always tell when WoW servers are down. The quality of forum posters seems to deteriorate.image

    Haven't been able to play for more then a week because of a shitload of work... Doing fine so far.

    I didn't even know the servers were down. Which shows you how much of an avid player I really am.

    You see, there are other games out there to play, I know, I know, its a hard concept to grasp at times.

    Most of these games don't have full to the brim servers, and don't have to go down for maintenance regularly.

    Deep breaths now, take deep long breaths.

    Now for the big one, there are games that are more fun than World of Warcraft.

    It's always good to have a free MMO game ready just in case stuff like this happens.

    In my case I play Maple Story. It's just good anime fun!

    Only a lvl 14 Magician though because I normally spend my hrs in WoW, and Real Life of course.

    Shrug, played WoW and it despite being a very simple game had me playing it and running my own raiding guild; however, I realized just how much I hated holding a bunch of retards hands and walking them through fight after fight 3x a week and I quit after about 8 monthsish of playing.... I mean I truly despise raiding.

    So, I guess the way I get by is realizing the only real way to progress in the game afte you top out is to raid with people you really do not like even in the least several days a week in hopes of getting an upgrade item... Nah, I am done chasing the proverbial carrot.

    Now, I wait for a new MMO that tries to break the mold set in place by games like EQ and WoW.

    Sorry Blizzard isn't up to the industry standard in maintenance.  You should complain to make them increase effeciency.  Smaller more unmanned staffs can take care of comporable server data structures on the same ratio scale in 2 hours/week for years at a time.  Blizzard just can't micromanage very well.  If Blizzard takes down there servers for so long each week, then they should take down servers with rotation.  It will dedicate manpower to the task, and make it more suitable for players.

    Not all the servers are down anyways. They are doing them in groups/invervals. Mine is up right now, along with about 30 others. But all the rest are down of course.

    It's not server maintenance.  They are upgrading servers this week.  You can still actually play the game, on one of the working servers.

    I have my WoW account activated but I do not know why, I was waiting for the XP I think but now I will just cancel it. I have not played in like 4 or 3 weeks and that was a quick 5 minutes log to show my friends how the game was.   I am a bit tired of it, it's very repetitive and is not funny for me anymore, however I had a blast playing it for the first month ^^.

    ok, im gonna help you staying in your state of mind:

    heres the to do list:
    ---------------------------------
    -check the offizial forums look in the other class boards and flame them for their stupid posts

    -look up your own class forum and bitch about some unfair stuff

    -look up where you can get better equipment what you need to do to get it
    and if you can, calculate the estimated time to reach it so you can decide what to get first

    -remind yourself when the addon burning crusade is coming and start to drool

    -read the addon news and see that all lvl 60 epic items now will be as good as green items at lvl 70

    -bitch in the forums that it cant be that your epic items are going to be trash when the addon is released

    -if still the servers are down try to sleep, you can use the rested bonus on the next day to play longer

    ....
