combat and animations look fine to me. It looks just like any other mmo, and I'm not a fanboi and I hate SOE. (I'm a precu SWG player) i dont know why alot of people are commenting on how boring it looks. the only problem I can think of is if its really slow to run or if you can't jump, thats what killed FFXI for me, apart from the slow @$$ grind and the POLviewer and the horrible controls and the streamlined ps2 graphics.(Sorry for the run-on sentence but I'm not changing it

Also: I particularly like the way the polearm/spear animations look, as I am quite partial to those weapons. after seeing a spear in one of the videos I'm excited that a class might actually use one exclusively. Oh and the armor looks very nice. and the amount of classes and races available, oh and the flying mounts.

The animations for spells and combat are pretty good in Guild Wars, I would say that would be the place to START, but then take it up a notch or two.
BTW, the enemies in the videos that seem to float lifelessly in the air are a prime example of bad creature design and animation. I can't believe they would show that in a promotional video!

If you want sweet animations this game isn't going to do it.....Gods and Heroes will though which is the game that I will be watching from now on....
I haven't seen anything impressive about Vanguard other than the sheer size of the world.
