Wepps brief moment of lucidity

In 2 days it will be a year question is how do the players of SWG like there game today??

Please be constructive, state how you feal . Up sides to the nge downsides to the nge and/or a personal comment on what you think should be changed and what should be left alone.

Honestly I'm bored.

I sort of lost interest after seeing the new smuggling system.

To me, smuggling and everything associated with it was the one thing they've done in this year that actually DEFINES NGE. It was all about the ability to bring content to a game that before it was impossible to do so.

When they finally got the opportunity to really show their stuff with the new system, they totally bypassed it, did not take Smugglers and smuggling seriously.

That made no sense to me whatsoever. I'm frustrated and disappointed that I waited so long to find out that the true end-game for these professions that could have been realized - will probably never be realized.

So I'm bored now.

Later in the post he took a shot at SWG vets.


Though I'm disappointed in how this has turned out especially after the Smuggler debacle, I would go so far to say that people hear only what they want to hear.

On the servers I play I rarely hear anybody griping endlessly. I don't hear good OR bad, just people playing the game.

Oh, every now and again I go into a cantina, and some cheesedick is in there whining up a storm and dissing the devs, and you name it. If that's what he's paying for then he is a grade A moron. Anybody that hates something so bad that they pay for it should have their voting rights removed, along with their ass.

What 'I' was looking forward to was what they intended to do with the professional mission systems. NGE promised a really great change in that regard, actual content so that you could finally stop calling them for what they are, classes, and make them professions. Well, after seeing smuggling I'm not only not impressed, I'm DEpressed. Seriously, if all this was for THAT, then I have no idea where the boys in Austin got their drugs but it's just not that fun.

    WEPPS has been and always will be, a total waste. I swear he has some serious mental issues. Probably from doing SERIOUS drugs since birth.

    I tend to agree. He's gone from my list of people I respect still on the SWG forums. I still think it can't be the same Wepps from long ago....

    Wepps though by all means is not somthing to hold as a standard, in fact he is the NGE at it's best.

    He does not know what a good game is and or when it is good.

    Wepps was not successful prior to the NGE, in fact the NGE was made for him.... someone who did not quite do well, make it or had any part in things.

    He has flip flopped so much on the boards that some people do not even know where he stands...

    None the less, his comments or anything that is said bad about the NGE are a bit late... most of us figured out at the start of this how bad it would be --

    As far as Im concearned he saw nothing... he had no idea , also he cannot see a failure coming like we did.

    None the less, since he thought the NGE would be a success, I base my opinion on him with that as such.

    Kinda funny how I can back that up vs the latter.

    It's amusing (lol) but wrong.

    Those aging hippies WERE the potential playerbase. Marketing didn't see it that way. (are you paying attention Ms. McIntyre?)

    There is a vast existing potential playerbase of millions upon millions of Star Wars fans. They have, to date, been pretty much ignored.

    This is why SWG never broke the 300k subscription barrier.

    And we still have that problem today. We need content. I say that content exists already, in the professions and what they do for a living.

    If you want to make them icons, then you need to study what Lando did for a living, and implement it in this game according to the needs of the group of Star Wars aging hippies.

    I never pay Wepps too much attention.  He is usually just a troll.  I do often wonder how his coworkers deal with his bi-polarism though...

    Its really not very nice to make fun of the mentally ill.   Split personality disorder is a serious illness, and if the NGE does nothing but to help him merge his two psyche's back together it will be a .....umm, well no it will still be a failure of chatostrophic measure, but that will at least be one good thing to come from it.    image
