SOE TO LAUNCH REDESIGNED EQ2 PLAYERS WEBSITE WITH NEW FEATURES, 2 WEEK FREE TRIAL
Who:
Sony Online Entertainment today announced the re-launch of their EverQuest II players website, www.eq2players.com.
What:
Since its introduction in 2004, EQ2Players.com has been the source for the EQ2 player community to list and view their characters achievements in the rich fantasy world of EverQuest II. This site redesign will unveil a new look that will provide players with more detailed and extensive leader boards, as well as more detailed character and item info. A new feature has also been added; for the first time dynamic spell lists will now be available for all player classes, so when player characters level up and acquire new spells, these listings will be automatically updated on the site.
As part of this exciting new redesign, EQ2Players.com will offer all of its services for a free two week trial.
When:
The updated site is expected to go live at 5PM Pacific time on Monday, November 13, 2006.
Where: www.eq2players.com

Hmm, the boats look VERY enticing.
No thanks... it's not worth the money and is one of the many many reasons EQ2 has been losing customers like a sinking ship.
It's always something...
Actually you've always had to pay for the advance features at eq2players but everyone gets 30 days free so they know exactly what they are getting for that money. If you don't pay, you still get minimal features which for most people is fine and it doesn't affect the game in any way, shape or form.
As for EQ2 sinking, well this is the third expansion and it's starting to become clear that it's by far the best one, even if the patching process has been a little messy. It's population has been very stable, since the server mergers the servers have all been very strong and the game itself is continually being worked.
It certainly true it's not for everyone, and they've managed to upset every single type of player in just about everyway and have yet to settle on some important core functions but with all that, it's still a very good game with a bright future.
