Is anyone here really hyped up about Risk Your Life?
I honestly didn't pay much attention to it before because of the name. I know that's very shallow of me but my attitude towards the MMORPG genre nowadays has become extremely judgemental since every single game company with a tidbit of an idea gives the industry a shot.
I'm so sick of getting excited about a game because of all these wonderfull ideas they advertise with and then sadly disappointed when I experience it firsthand. I played Ultima Online for a while and it was great. It was my first MMORPG. It got old and I switched to Everquest for a while but once I realized that I was actually working and not playing I smartened up and quit that as well. Now I've played over 50 MMORPGs since then and over type my personal hypo-meter doesn't raise much above "somewhat interested".
I can't help to be ambitious here and there though. Guildwars definately has my attention and I'm thinking of even giving City of Heroes a try. But let's get back to my topic shall we? 
I saw the RYL contest and figured, "Hey why not check it out." I watched all the videos and I must say, I'm extremely impressed. Fast paced battle? PvP? The graphics seem great and they have a few other innovative ideas.
Am I the only one that thinks this game may have the potential to be one of the top MMORPGs to be released in the near future? Okay of course I'm not the only one. But I'd like to hear your opinions on the possibility of RYL being a hit.

definately agree on Guild Wars, and had the same reaction with RYL. didn't really pay attention until I saw the beta give away, check it out and came away very impressed!
I'll be following it with much more interest now.

In the taiwanese version, is enough of the game in English to play extensively or is the language barrier too much to excel.

I am playing and paying for the RYL Taiwan Version cos I can read and understand chinese.
It has been fun so far and i feel im not wasting my money at all.
Nevermind those boring quests and clan wars, You take them all apart and you still get a solid good game, just simply becasue of the outstanding combat system. Imagine jumping away from the enemy when u are in low health or doing a quick strafe to avoid the enemy's attack. These are really innovative features i felt that makes this game so unique and more reflex based.
The only thing Im hoping for is more content and interesting quests. Other than that I feel its the best so far of the current drop of MMORPGs.
And for those who love to get cool item drops, i feel the game's wide range of weapons should satisfy your hunger. Jus try and get in Phase 2 and play ad you wil know what i mean.
You can pay if u live in singapore cos they have a singapore branch.
Less hype, more substance!
i personally wont be playing RYL but i gotta admit it does look sweet...
its nice to see theres still some quality games out there
