There's a page on the official StarWars site about the release of the SWG:Complete package. I just found some of the wording towards the bottom of the page interesting...
"In addition, Star Wars Galaxies subscribers will automatically receive a series of game updates that are scheduled to be released by LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment throughout the remainder of 2006 and into 2007, filled with new gameplay enhancements."
I dunno, could be my tinfoil hat, but I found it funny the way they stated "the remainder of 2006 and into 2007", it made me wonder...exactly how far "into 2007" they talking about here? I dunno, but my guess is 6 months "into 2007" seems about right, lol. Could be the SOE hater in me, but I didnt find the statement to be very optimistic about the future timeline of SWG, this very well could be the sunset package deal, I mean it is called "the Complete Online Adventures" after all, sounds like a good name for a final offering of the game to me, lol.
This part kinda amused me as well...
""...an easy way to experience the full richness of the Star Wars universe with thousands of others online," said Jason Willig, senior director online for LucasArts. "The Complete Online Adventures delivers hundreds of hours of gameplay for a fantastic price...""
"..thousands of others.." lol, please. And the sad thing is I probably used to get "hundreds of hours of gameplay" from each month of PreCU SWG, and now they're advertising the game (with all 3 expansions) as offering that amount of gameplay, lol.
PreCU SWG = "hundreds of hours of gameplay" each month
NGE SWG = "hundreds of hours of gameplay" total
"Uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now.
We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?"

I remember when hundreds of thousands played the game lol..
Now it's just thousands..I buy that...
15 of them.

Well I am guessing with a smaller budget things are slowing down. They may of intended to release at Christmas but as seen with the expertise its taking time to implement.
They main goal is to finish the combat professions before Xmas I think, to see if this will stop the bleed of subs. Its really a matter of seeing out the end of the year rather then planning ahead at this time.
Oh you have got the Beast master and gardener professions in concept. But I'm thinking this is more a case of dragging along those who wanted pets back into the next year. That or the poll showing a High percentage of those playing are in fact more interested in PVE versus PVP. Thus soe will do another u-turn going from PVP centric to a more PVE freindly version. But who knows what direction if ever there was one.
Where the entertainer and crafter revamp in all this is is any-ones guess. Not to mention the particle effects annoying people, animations to be improved. The expertise system to be balanced nerfed. Something done with the smuggling system, as I read it pretty much was a waisted effort. Bugs such as creatures still spawning in rocks and buildings along with npc shooting through walls and getting the "can't see target" message when npc are out in the open. The legacy quest seems to be coming under fire for being repetitive dull and shallow.
This is just some of the problems I can make out with this current game, which will be following it into the new year. Not a pretty picture.
If I were an NGE fanboy I'd be starting to worry, given that wording. But then, most NGE fanbois are too busy with their hands over their ears going, "la la la,the game is great, la la la" at the top of their voice to notice such things.

When did this thing come out? I saw six boxes of this atrocity at Best Buy today, all on the bottom shelf, pushed back up out of the way. The clerk I spoke to said so far they couldn't give them away.
The EQ2 expansion was sold out within hours of release though.
