I started in Moenia, Naboo. I stayed there for several weeks before venturing forth to see the rest of Naboo. The first impression I had was "man this game is dark and dreary."
Dearic, Talus.......spent about a week and a half there running missions and making stuff to get enough credits to get to Corellia. Once i got to Corellia i then went on to Bela vistal where i began running Imperial delivery missions so that i could pledge to the Empire. It just so happened i met a person that day in July 2003 whom i still game with all the time...............memories.
It was quiet, there were very few players in Kaadra while I stumbled up the nooby steps. The first 3 months for Oggat were solitaire ones and I did recon explorer missions alot. Back then, you started with a speeder voucher that allowed 3 calls and you had to make use of them so I did alot of recons and made sure I had enough to buy a swoop before my 3rd call. I still remember finding 6 land speeders on a Vendor for like 1K each and buying them all. I sold 5 for huge profit and felt like a millionaire even though I only had 50K or so. Then a player wandering by gave me a Ber10 and all hell broke loose. Prior to that, I had sampled all my resources and 2K was a big stack. At the end, Oggat still had some of the original 1800 copper he got from Yavin. A 999 OQ one I stood, no AFK and sampled. It worked out. I was a Master Artisan before I knew what happened.
Mos Entha. I rember walking around the sp and I found a mission term, and I knew I need some cash because I only had $200 . So what do I do? I pick the delivery mission that was the highest pay $435 (I still rember), and I saw the bluew arrow on my screen and I followed it.....I went on a run from Mos Entha to Wayfar, took me about 1.5hrs and I was so scared of geting jumped by tuskans, and those stupid Mountian Warts I was shakeing. I got my $435 and called my uncle that played for some help. He came and brought me to a little reb town called AH and I stayed there for about 3 or 4 months till we all moved on to cornet.......
Dearic, Talus was my starting spot. I started playing a couple of days after launch so it was pretty booming at the time. The things I remember most were tons of people battling the local meatlumps and one nice person who stopped and showed me a few tips to get me started and taught me all the languages. Oh and having to run for at least 2000m away from Dearic just to be able to put up a freaking basic camp, lol...ahh the memories.
Dearic ... then we set up a group of houses on the sandspit NE of Coronet while waiting for Player Cities to go live ... then a bunch of people moved to Talus ... then we finally settled on the north coast of Naboo for GAT City and thanks to the devotion of a few people got our City Hall in place in the mad dash to beat the planetary cap that TH had the generosity to mention to us 24 hours before Cities went live.
My little shop The Tradin' Post sat on the tip of that sandspit until the move to Naboo, and I loved that big clunky vendor and making my first profit on other people's crafted items as well as my own.

Ha... I remember that. Run, run, run... camp... too close. Run, run, run... camp... too close. It took a while before they finally scaled back those city limts so you could put structures up.
I think I started in Kor Vella, Corellia. I remember it had a big fountain in the middle of town, so I'm pretty sure that's Kor Vella.
The first city i can recall from my start in SWG would have been a player made one.. It was named Mos Vea located on the planet Tatooine. I seen some distant object moving around in the distance! Once my vision peaked too see what lye ahead it become evident it was another player waving me in! It was a leader of some sort for this player run city called Mos Vea. This leader ran me through a quick tutorial of stuff and got me my first lazer blaster. To bad i didnt get screenshots, it woulda been clasic to have some of my first encounter in swg.
Moenia, Naboo. Man, I remember when I first landed there after the very short tutorial back then. There were people all over the place. Many of the old school rebels from Tempest started in either Moenia or Anchorhead. I really miss that game...
SWG Tempest: Cardo Dycen RIP Eve: Cardoh Dycen I support random drug testing for all SOE employees
I remeber how big things seemed to me. Was the first mmorpg I had ever played so it was different. I remeber getting a few delevry missions and things went well till I got one to verni island. I had enough to get there and planned on the reward for the ticket back. Well I got there and no npc and since I had just finshed playing elders scrolls 3 I figured there were things in the water and ruled out swimming. Yep I am that dumb
Some how I agroed a corsec and next thing I know I have been incaped. I guess I really pissed them off and they incaped me 2 more times. So I thought well that is one way to get back when the cloneing window poped up. Instead of going back to coronet I cloned in Tryena. The south end of town did not seem to busy but once I got to the med center it was packed along with the cantina. Little did I know then I would spend the rest of my time out of Tryena and the friends I would meet and make. Anobaca my not have started in Tryena but I like to think that is were he was truly born.
Started in Bestine. The 2nd day in the game a friend of mine and I decided we would take our 2 boxes in marksmen and head out for Jabba's palace. LOL! We died so fast once we got about 1/4 of the way there!
talus, the city top right i'm at a loss for the name atm, same city as my jedi trainer coincidentally... man i miss being decked out in comp a 1700 damage 1.0 speed saber and still living in constant fear, man those were the days.
Mos Eisley... "Hunting group forming in front of cantina, send /tell to..." Sheesh, and that was just the start of it... Best time I ever had playing a computer game.
Originally posted by Gooney I also recall the first Pistoleer box I attained, shortly after realizing that it probably wasnt a good idea to have Scout, Marksman, Medic, Artisan, Brawler, Entertainer all at the same time.
Hey. Hey! That's my template you're dissing there! (OK, not quite: I didn't have much use for Brawler. Master Artisan, Novice Pistoleer, crafting Medic, Musician, and varying degrees of Scout.)
I started in Tyrena on Corbantis, March of '04, because my sister and brother-in-law had started there a week or so earlier. Not a lot of population there. Whacked and got whacked by butterflies and Meatlumps, ran missions, and discovered the lucrative Tyrena-Vreni Island crafting missions - lots of slitherhorn tooting and sampling while waiting for the shuttle. After picking up a few Marksman boxes, I went on a crosscountry hike and ended up in Coronet. Whoa! People everywhere! Shortly thereafter my computer got upgraded to a gig of RAM...
Wow lets see. In beta 3 I logged into Doaba Gurfel and promptly got lost in the mountains. I didn't know about waypoints or how they worked. I about never found my way back to the city.
Then when the game went live I started in Kaadara, eventually moved to Keren, and then once player cities were in off to tat I went since my guild was located there. Used to die going to the guild hall all the time, running across tat. I'd save my pennies for the trip and it was slightly cheaper to fly into Espa, though farther from the hall. Back then tuskens and desert demons were to be feared, especially by a lowly tailor lol.

Then I got to Kadaara and boy what a difference!

WOW, alot of Doaba Gurfel vets. I thought I was the only one crazy enough to start there.
