Macro wars, mission grinding, FOTM templates, and so on.

Yes, it was crappy and then some pre-CU.  Nothing that came afterwards fixed that part.

    Mission terminals =/= content

I watched the first review, and cant understand how anyone can care about what those geeks have to say. It was embarrassing to watch.

"a DANCING wookie!!!??, or what it was, was all they could talk about. It was like you had to be a wookie to dance, or that the wookie forced them look at him against their will. They didnt understand the game, wasnt interested in understanding it, and never gave it a chance.

In my country one of our bigest newspaper reviewed swg when it was relesed, and i got the impression that the guy who reviewed it didnt loved the game, but that he gave it a fair chanse with many hours of playtime. He was also talking more about whats important to the game, like gameplay, options, feeling, experiences, etc. I must say that review, made by a real journalist, carried greater weight than what those two smiling fools put togheter.

This second review was as important and thrustworthy to me as the first one.

Logging in and immediately getting /tells from people in our City ...

"... come to the guild hall and get buffed, we're heading to Dathomir to get those hides our armorsmith needs ..."

"... we're meeting up at Med Center, our base is under attack and we're getting organized to strike back ..."

"... hear there's a big AH-Bestine PvP going, see you at the shuttleport ..."

    "... Krayt hunt!"

"... hey I just finished a factory run of the best FWG's I've ever made, you need one?"

    etc., etc., etc.

The game's greatness was all about community.  If you didn't have one, yeah, it probably sucked.  If you did, you'll always look back with nostalgia at the Golden Age, where the game was flawed in innumerable ways and yet you had so many ways to have fun.

    But then ...

"You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"

Yes, it's one hundred times better now... image

BTW, I'm sorry you didn't have many friends that went out and could make their own content. I guess people with an imagination are fading out...but, that's why the world has Survivor and reality shows...
