MMORPG community offering powerleveling services?

I place this topic as a result of an advertisement which I saw on mmorpg.com concerning powerleveling service placed by mmorpg community.

I always thought that the mmorpg community applied against powerleveling service, gold selling service, etc. But to my stupefaction I noticed that they offer these services themselves! This was however a large vexation for me.

I cannot understand that people buy a game and the next thing they do is pay other people to reach the maximum level or buy in-game gold for real money. They infect the gameplay because it is no longer in balance.

Feel free to post your opinions about mmorpg community offering these kind of services or powerleveling/gold selling service in general.

This has been brought up numerous times.

The reality is that people use these things because they want to play games but do not have time to invest in them as per the way the games are designed (in other words, they don't have time to grind cash, levels, etc., and want to access the content that is the reward for that time investment).  It's a time vs. money issue, and people who have some money but are short on time would rather spend their money to make up for their time shortage rather than missing out on the game.

These things will always exist.  It's best just to get used to them.

Not keen on gold sellers, but did think about the power-levelling services before. For instance, I only enjoy the pvp in WoW so wanted some level 60 characters or so, as well as wanting to see the popular instances at level 60. And also with DAoC, the main appeal of that game is its realm vs realm, but I completely disliked its PvE.  Well anyway, I didn't buy the services, (1) because it could fund slave labour (2) waste of money. Anyway just saying really I can see why people go for those services. Not everyone wants to invest in the heavily time-intensive side of mmorpgs.

Here we go again.   Hasn't the dead horse had enough of a beating?

    In War - Victory.
    In Peace - Vigilance.
    In Death - Sacrifice.

Pretty obvious that I care, otherwise I wouldn't start this topic.

Then you should have posted in the sticky that is in this very forum:
Yet another virtual seller advert, yourvirtualseller

Why the heck didn't you post in the 60+ response topic that is stickied at the top of the forum then? Believe me I am an anti-botter/anti-powerlevel ad person. But creating this topic when the above sticky has many opinions as well as Web site admin responses is not accomplishing anything but giving the power-level fanboi's and anti-powerlevel people another thread to flame and whine.  I agree it's been done to death.

The stickied thread has why it happened and MMORPG's stance on it.

edit: JelloB and I thought the same thing at the same time I suppose image.

I used to be into S & M ,  Necrophilia and Beastiliaty... but then I realised I was just beating a dead horse.

Thank you very much, I now have that disturbing image burned into my brain, can't stop picturing it.
