Eve - Newbie friendly?

VykoruVykoru Member Posts: 14
I'm on a wild hunt for a good mmorpg, and this looks very good in graphics. My PC runs 'some' games good, is there a problem with lag on this one? I saw a free trial, just wondering if this is worth playing? ^_^ Thanks.

Lag isnt bad for the most part.  Just stay out of Jita.

I  haven't experienced any lag so far, but I'm fairly new.  The graphics are pretty cool in this game, and the freedom to choose what you want to do is a lot of fun.

Lag is not bad but it is not really newbe freindly. the learning curve to this game is pretty high. it not a wow at all.  the key to this game is to get into a good corp. You can find a corp that suties your needs. but as always killing people is the funest. the 14 day trail isnt a really good sample of the game. so i would say but the game and see in the first month. i think its only 30ish dollars to buy so i would say go that way. just try not to get to a dicted you only social life is eve. hehe i used to tell my freinds i had a new gf that her name saw eve and she took up all my time. eheh jk

I wouldn't say it's "noob friendly" due to the learning curve.

That being said, once I learned the scope of the game I was hooked.

Complete the new character tutorial.  It's a must.  Without completeing it you'l have -no- clue what to expect from the game other then extended confusion.

The game is massive, theres so much to do, so many choices.. and yes the graphics are pretty good if you got a decent computer, when i first started playing i had a amd duron processor and i lagged like hell, But other than that there arnt too many lagg problems, i think this is the best pvp game out there.. i have yet to try Dark age of Camelot though.. some people say is the best.

Its very interactive, Its really hard to do anything in the game later on, alone. Its not too noob friendly, just stay out of .4 and below systems and you wont die. Which is the big problem with most of the new people. Once you get goin in the game most Low Security systems wont be a problem. The game does require some intellilect in the user... theres not alot of little kids in this game. Accept maybe Band of Brothers Alliance.. they shit talk alot. It gets annoying. But i think this is a really fun game all in all.

well EvE Online is not WoW as many stated but as a new commer (n00b) you are
    treated better then ordinary mmorpgs

First of n00b are not a preferably word in EvE Online it's not used and in general
more like a cursing word for a fool.

Ok back to EvE then learning curve isnt that bad if you got a brain O thats right try
make the tutiral it's abit loong but you will learn the basic and the vital stuff in EvE Online.

make the tutiral to avoid people in eve scream in local make the tutiral :)

Lagg well compared to other mmorpgs called WoW or Dark Age of Camelot and so on
    the lagg dont exist. ::::20::

Worth playing hm consider I play/beta tested EvE Online it's the best out on the market

I played Eve during Beta, solid for a LONG time after release and now just off and on.  I always found most folks in high sec space (start areas if you want to call it that) friendly for the most part and many willing to lend a hand to new commers.

The lore of the game is great and the best of any MMO imho.  Lag is not bad except for High Sec systems where 100's of players can congragate or if in a hudge fleet battle, of course some of that depends on your system.

To get the most out of the game though you need realize the game is PvP orented, flat out period.  I say that because PvP'rs aka Pirates in areas of space with low security rattins will drill ya not matter if your a new commer or not.  As long as you do understand that fact, (which I think catches a lot of new folks off guard), then you may enjoy the game.

EVE is a very intense game or a very casual game.  Or a mix of the two.  Depending on how you approach the game.  It's not easy to learn as it has more depth than any other MMORPG on the market and has so many aspects to it that it can be daunting at first.

    Do the tutorial
Ask lots of questions in the newbie corp or the help/rookie channels.
Read the official forums.  Tons of great (and some not so great) information on the game is available.

There are tons of resources in this game for having a great experience.  Those who take the time to learn the game generally wind up enjoying it.  It's far from a game for everyone... but it's a very solid game and one that, if you like it, you tend to love.
