Do you think you will need a Windows Vista to run this game when it comes out? I was thinking about getting this game but I am afraid my computer won't be able to run it.

Short answer, no
Windows Vista, and Direct X10 are not necessary to run AoC. They are more like getting High Definition for your TV, your movies will look better, but you can do without it.
