People actually play EyeToy games? I thought they were for tech demos and other crap.
Man, what I wouldn't give for Epic to screw up and make it so both PS3 users and PCs can play Unreal against each other online. At least I would be having fun.
Im calling it a gimmick because I dont like it, I dont care about it, and ive never bothered to look into what it is. Im calling it a gimmick because gimmick is a cool word and provides me with a shield of "imanasshole", which cant be penetrated because I never respond to defend myself.

...I don't know how you can be excited to play those games. Aside from a small boost in graphics, there's really no difference in playing these games with PS2 games already out. The only innovation are in games that I personally don't really see myself playing.
Yeah, Heavenly Sword might be the PS3's God of War, or it might just be a really lame rip off of DMC. Speaking of, DMC4 looks horrible. They slowed down gameplay considerably just so you can marvel at the graphics. Seeing the demo being played was a real let-down for someone like me who prided himself on playing DMC3 on ultra-fast mode and as hard as possible. Yeah the graphics look amazing and the animations are nice, but they're too slow.
FFXIII looks horrible... It looks like it'll appeal to the anime-loving FF fan that pre-ordered FFX-2 and is madly inlove with Square-Enix. I'll stick with my original SNES and early playstation FF games, thanks. Can't wait to try FF3, btw.
And Lair... Jesus Christ. Didn't they learn from Drakengard? Yeah it looks pretty and awesome... but that kind of gameplay gets boring fast. It's just the extremely rehashed Dynasty Warriors with wings and fire breath.
I'm not a hating fanboy, but I just don't understand what people see in these games. There's probably one or two games on your list that I'm even remotely interested in trying, but I'll definately not buy a PS3 for one.

Well the crap thats coming out on the Wii and the 360 isn't doing much better how can we complain? I mean alan Wake is on PC and Halo wont offer a revolution in gaming lol. Gears of War was nothing new but only graphics.
What do you guys expect? PC gaming doesn't look any better too. Not many games to be excited about over Crysis and Spore :

Halo 2 offered a revolutionary way for console gaming, with their awesome matchmaking system. Even if you hate Halo 2 and think it's an over-hyped piece of garbage, you can't deny the matchmaking and clan system is one of the best ever made.
Gears of War was an amazing innovation in shooting gameplay. It's the first real Third Person Cover game. The aspect is teamwork and hiding behind cover and moving strategically, rather than running and gunning and simply aiming around corners. Even though its obviously sci-fi, its the closest I've ever had to a virtual paint-ball experience. Yeah, you might not like it, but you have to admit it definately stands apart from all of the other console shooters cookie-cutters available. Which reminds me, I can't wait to see some actual screenshots from Killzone.

Halo offered nothing, PC did multiplayer and single player sooo much better so whats to get excited about? I found the levels to be the game breaking thing though. It was like they got a pre generated level design and patterned it over and over again : Very poor games and the gameplay was nothing new.
People buy into hype wayyyy tooo much.
Also Gears of War was another hyped up Halo :
No story really exists
- clunky controls
- 1 button tries to do tooooo much
- gameplay gets old and repetitive very fast
- Nothing new
- Multiplayer only 4 vs 4
- Not many multiplayer modes
- Chainsaw overpowers multiplayer
- Very very short
- No replay value and not much point playing multiplayer seeing as theres much better
- very expensive for what you get.
- Framerate sucks.

Everyones entitled to their own views, im up for that. I'm fed up of all the PS3 bashing tbh. Made a thread hopefully people be excited about games and instead it turned into a PS3 sucks thread.
1. I brought a 360 and like 2 games for the console and nothing really in the future stands out from the crowd, im yet to be impressed by Halo.
2. The wii has yet to show anything impressive, most of it's reviews came abck complaining about controls when thats meant to be the highlight of the console.
All i'm saying is stop bashing the PS3 so hard when the competition is not coming up with the goods yet.
It's safe to say the Wii will look like the clear winner in the first year then become year 2 PS3 will start to pull out infront and eventually win. It doesn't matter who wins the HD war (hd-dvd and blu-ray) cause the 360 doesn'y support hd-dvd outta the box anyways.
It'll go PS3 > 360 > wii
