I was worried about that too, especially at one point in the game where the max players in a group was still capped at 4 but everyone had 2 heroes each already.  Noone was grouping at all at that point.

Once you get into the 8 man zones though, everyone starts grouping again.  I think its working out realy well actually.  I've been in lots of groups, sometimes there are 8 of us, sometimes there are 4 and each of us bring one hero, sometimes theres just two of us and we both get to bring all 3 of our heroes.  image  It isnt too bad.

Comparing to the last campaigns, people still seem to generally do quests solo.  It has always sort of been meant to be like that anyways.  Remember during beta of the first campaign all the explorable areas were single player only, and you werent allowed to bring any other players with you at all.  Its really the coop missions, and most importantly, the PvP, where you interact with players a lot.  Thats just how GW is, and I know a lot of people dont like it, but a lot do.

Actually now that I come to think of it, most people seem to like to do basic quests alone in almost all mmorpgs.  Isn't that weird?

yes thats a little "sad" that people wants to solo all the way,Its funny grouping and see everyone needing each other, the best class combination to perform. The "family feeling" of a nice party isnt there. In GW:Prophecies, you needed the necro to bust the enemy priest while the elementalist was storming a fire rain on the enemy group etc...Sounded more rewarding at the end, because a npc couldnt be as intelligent as a real player,It would never use a build as efficiently and improvise as well.

I even started a Monk lol, because in Prophecies they were sought after like mad so you're always active, now people just dont give a damn when i LFG,lol..

But since you have Heros, the quests and missions are obviously less challenging .Try doing Lornar Pass with Heros? imageimageBut we'll see at higher lvl!

That's what's so great about GW I suppose, it's soloability and people get used to that, I often find in groups if you die often, people get frustrated and leave, and it really messes things up, usually meaning having to restart the mission. With henchmen, you don't get any of that, so you can take the game at your own pace and enjoy the game just as much. I prefer to group with players rather then henchmen, but it also proves to be sometimes more frustrating rather than fun.

There's a reason why many prefer NPCs to real players: GW requires skill and team coordination. Sadly, more often than not, such coordination is not easy to achieve due to people's ego, stubborness, or just lack of skill.

I too love to group with human players, but PUGs can really be hell at times.

I hate PUGS so this expansion may be right for me, havent played in ages! You gotta luv it when the monk drops our 10 min in cause someone does somthing stupid, and the missions r so difficult they know to continue is just wasting there time!

Nightfall when you get later in the game has a maximum party size of 8 like the other two Guild Wars games, plus you can only have 3 heros in your party and there a lot of different ones. So with you and 3 heros that leaves room for another 1-4 people. I've only gotten so far as to have gotten General whats his face the Paragon. The heros are required for some quest and I personally like them because they are customizable henchman. Finally an elementalist without Firestorm! Every skill you have unlocked they can use. You just have to upgrade their weapons which is the only draw back and their armor upgrades automatically according to their level. They listen better than most people. A hero is basically a giant doll. You control it. If you want it to go somewhere just stick it's flag there.

image  Oh yeah, because we know how much 4 other players want to join you and your three heros.

image  That reminds me of the whole 'I cant wait for PotBS to come out so I can captain a ship and boss my friends around!' thing.

image  Its good though, I've already had this happen.  I join a group and the leader thinks its okay for him to bring 2-3 heroes and not anyone else in the group.  Thats when you know you've got a bad leader on your hands, and you can leave immediately instead of wasting time dying.

Heroes are OK in PvE. But I'm sick of Heroes in PvP!!!

HA should be Players vs. Players, not Players vs. Player(s)&Heroes image  The main reason I'm playing GW is PvP. Now I'm in situation to play against AI.

And that it isn't my choice! It's the choice of my opponent(s)... image

True the heros should be cut from PvP but if you can't beat them then join them bring your own Heroes into the PvP arena.

I'm finding it really fun and useful to go in groups of 4 and each player gets to bring 1 hero.  Very fun!

Which is cool because they're not going to get hacked at you for kicking them out like a real player would image.
