I just heard the news and it saddens me. The whole past week I have been looking into it, and now this came as a brick to the face.
I hope a company will pick it up. I have been raving about its economy and community since
I tried it back in April, but I havent had a computer to play it on since.
Anyone else on the boat with me?

Other games' skills feels completely restrictive and redundant after I play ryzom.
That was undeserved for a game with this amount of quality gameplay. Like most PvE based online games I wasn't able to get addicted to it for more than a couple of months, but the crafting and skillsystem is a work of genious and as far as non-quest based PvE MMO's goes Ryzom must be near the top.
If all the games you've played are refered to by people as everquest clones and you don't know why, playing this would help you see an alternative take on gameplay. The wildlife isn't as realistic as some sources might have you think, but it's a few notches above the "3million idle boars in a forest" type which does add to the general feel.
Wish Ryzom and all its players the best for the future.

It wasn't the game for me, but even so, Ryzom was far more innovative than 90% of the other games out there, and many of their ideas were good.
