Do you still think the Balkanization of Vets and Current from General has served this community well in making information easy to access?
You've had a while to run with this experiment ... personally, I don't think it's very helpful either to the reader or to your site's rep as an objective source of information. Have you considered rollback? What has convinced you that this is worth perpetuating, if not?

Its amazing what a few cups of coffee and a few stacks of IHP pancakes can do.
I recently blogged about looking a gift horse in the month but with the inceased users form the nge ( and I know comes in handy when getting SOE's competitors to place ads onsite.) The recent heavy handled of the vets since that wonderful breakfast with SOE is becoming as about as popular as the NGE itself.

So for the sake of arguing, everyone goes to RLMMO. This is a private forum. So how do all the people who are thinking about playing SWG get information about how bad the game is?
By running and hiding into a private forum is NOT going to help us or a potential new player.
BTW, I think Stradens idea to split the forums was a good idea ... in principle. So long as the RoC are applied EVENLY and FAIRLY, I think it was a good idea.

Posting opinions and then summarily locking topics to preclude responses is a particularly unfortunate abuse of moderator powers, however.
SOE not related to the rest of Sony? What, they don't answer to the same Board of Directors? Smedley doesn't ultimately answer to Howard Stringer and Dr. Chubachi like everybody else in Sony Group? You don't understand, the super-duper secret info that rlmmo has is way too secret to tell to noobs like us. They think they are the CIA of the NGE.
Beleive me you aren't missing a thing it's the same exact people who post here and it's all the same crap. As a matter of fact some of them still come here and post off topic threads in the vet forums and they have to be locked by mmorpg staff. They really bash on the mmorpg forums over there so it makes me wonder why they even come here and post, I mean they have their own secret club now.

You're right. We don't allow people to start topics, asking for another poster to be banned for no reason at all.
Here's an idea: Why don't you respond by saying that our SWG board is basically the same as the SWG forum on this site and then you can use your alt. account to back you up again?

I think you can say that without saying something that is rather obviously untrue to try to make the point.
In theory that might be true, however the Supreme Court believed, in the case of educational facilities, that "seperate educational facilities are inherently unequal. (Brown v. Board of Eductation of Topeka)
While this is a private forum and they are well within their rights to seperate the "Disgruntled Vets" from the "Current Players", I think that this will lead to inherently uneven modding. If they were to evenly and fairly moderate both forums, then that just means that they added to their work load by creating a new forum.
As for the point about letting people know what the state of the game is in. Do you really think that anyone that would be concerned enough about checking the product before buying doesn't already know about the game? The debacle that is SWG and SOE is well known to nearly every MMORPG player by now. The people that do not know about it either are not interested in MMORPGs, or are already playing one they like.

Not that the post you mentioned actually ended up on the forum publically for anyone on at the time to see or anything... but don't let the facts get in the way of a good whine.
The only reason you're on the outside looking in is because you couldn't play well with others. Simple.
