I just posted some video of the game, all of it shot while at Gencon.
http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7172
Anyway here's a brief preview of the game.
The first quests involved killing some Goblin Welps. I loaded up a sticky bomb, sniped the creature and finished them off with either a grenade or a second shot. Again, very basic, however the simple tasks involved at the earliest stages of the game were starkly contrasted by strategy and thought that went into later quests and combat situations.
The abilities themselves at the lower levels were straight forward. The strategies involved in staying alive involved damage avoidance, debuffing the creature, or sometimes just brute strength to out DPS them. With some creatures however, more adept tactics had to be taken and careful consideration to the abilities used seemed critical to success.
After about an hour of enjoying the PvE game play, the explorer in me had fully taken over and I wanted to see the world. I entered a few basic commands I had shoulder surfed from a developer and loaded up Barak Varr. A few more entries and I endowed my avatar with the powers of super speed and flight.
The phrases, is he supposed to see that and dont use those, those are developers tools, were heard frequently as I visited, explored and exploited the Marshes of Madness, the Badlands, Black Crag, Ekrund, Barak Varr, and Blackfire Pass.
During my time one thing that stood out were the quests. The quest team had done a great job writing. Whether I was defending a portion of Barak Varr, clearing a tavern from some pesky goblins, helping to capture Bugmans Brewery, rescuing Dwarfs from the Tree of Beards, or even Burning down the Tree of Beards. Each quest had along with it, purpose. It either advanced you in a story line, or served to propel you further into the richly written world.
The quests in the Marshes of Madness were of particular interest and detail. In one situation waves of undead were assaulting a base camp. Several lines of holdout had been made up as the undead slowly pushed me and my NPC brethren back. It seemed for as many reinforcement NPCs that were called up to help, equal numbers of undead pushed at our position. After being driven back the undead were close enough to use one of the nearby cannons. I clicked on it and it blasted a few of the undead. Giving us the chance we needed to push forward.

Hi there Garthik, welcome to mmorpg.com

Thanks a lot!

This reminds me alot of CoH :P.
But anyway, I think this should be our offical new "WAR isn't WoW" video. It's so dark and gritty(although the music that got added to the bg was a bit much :P) that there's no way people could mistake the two. Who needs beheadings? We got atmosphere.

Man i cant wait to blast some people with the canon
He got lucky though... I heard the eleven other F-keys were wired to release a door in the floor which would send you into a room where you would have to face Paul Barnett in a breakdancing competition. The loser of course has to be Richards intern for a month...shudder...

Can Barnett beat Hansel?
Looks like a wow clone, but with much worse graphics
oh well
Worse graphics? There may be some things that look unfinished or don't look superb yet, but guess what, the game is still in development, not even in Beta yet.
But still even without that, I don't understand how you possibly can think WoW looks nicer then WAR, but that's just me of course

Ive got enough money.
I dont need your 2 cents.
World of Warhammer? No thanks.
What is it that makes you think this game will not be cool? You can't say it because the look is a bit like WoW (duh, they're both fantasy games) you don't know anything about the gameplay when you look at such a video.
So why did it make you less excited?
*This is no flame, just being curious *
