Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of it - though it is a pretty busy time for them i'm sure
Last communication according to the forums was April
Just one thing among many that i use to judge whether a game is worth getting into - usually good communication from/with devs bodes well for the player where little or none does not (D&L)
Comments
They communicate pretty much every day through their community manager and others. The top forums aren't really used all that much. I think they should consolidate them, or at least move the active forums to the top of the pages.
Perpetual doesn't seem to be reaching out to the players in early testing like Vanguard has so the community there is a bit smaller. I've been following both games for quite awhile and so far the community there seems pretty tight knit and strong, definitely stronger than Vanguards IMO.
Alot of serious discussions on the game takes place in what limited information the dev's are willing to release at this point. The forum community there seems extremely helpful. Some suggestions they have made, without even being in the game, the devs have implemented or say they are looking at for the future. Then there are some fun posts and things as well.
Don't let those April dates scare you off. The Perpetual forums, though smaller than some, are alot of fun.
thanks
didn't actually read all the posts in the forums - just the actual heading in the forums for dev communication
good news anyway
Yeah, it's too bad none of those dev communications include a straight answer about whether you'll have to raid to get the best rewards, just equivocation and dodging.
How about when the game is released, buy it, play it, find out, and then come back and let us know.
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware
"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."
That would be stupid, since I don't spend my money on raid games. If they are going to make yet another raiding game, then they can do it without any financial support from me.
Then say the game doesn't deliver everything that they said it would because they are unable to do so, they changed their minds or they ran out of time/money. How would you feel about that game you really looked forward to then? Might just be a big let down.
Some experiences have led me to believe I want to know as little about a game as possible in future. I'll just wait till the NDA for GH is removed.

Dynamic Zone technology and hundreds of scripted adventures providing the best of single-player game mechanics - all unfolding in private, uncontested world-areas for individuals and groups to experience
loot and rewards isnt a problem when you combine whats said above with 1200+ quests and a huge landmass, this is probably one of the most single and group friendly games coming out in 07.
If you seriously think your gonna have bs gear with options like that your just flat out wrong.
It is a problem for me if raiding provides better rewards than not, I don't care how many quests are in the game or how large the landmass is. I have no interest in raiding or in paying any money whatsoever to a game that gives me the choice of 'raid or be second rate'. I don't care if all MMORPGs are going to be crap in 2007, I'm not going to pay money for a raid game even if it means not playing an MMORPG in 2007. Though currently WAR looks more non-raid friendly than G&H, they haven't said that they're even including PVE raids at all.
Every time I look for more information on this topic I find more worrying stuff. For example, last time there was a thread about raiding, someone said that 'oh no, you won't have to worry about that, you'd just use minions.' Yet the devs don't agre as shown by:

I'm not sure what brain damage causes MMO developers to consider huge mobs of players 'epic', but until I see a clear sign that they are going to work around their brain damage I'm not interested.

The devs have made it clear that the minions are not intended to replace human players.

Apart from the need to insult developers, I agree with that. I would rather see smaller groups with minions in things, does it not feel more epic if a few peoples effort and choices matter, rathert than a mob of people. You should feel like your effort is making a large difference, to me atleast, it doesnt feel like that in a large group.
The thing we really want to avoid is having players walk through our content and by building all the raids to accommodate a 5 man party with 8 minions each, that really doesn't feel epic nor does it present the players with any amount of challenge. By the same token, we don't feel like every player should be forced to experience the 40-man raid every day of the week.
That quote does say they don't want to have ALL the raids to have 5 people. That doesn't mean that there won't be raids like that. Then again i have no proof of thier intentions.
There is a thread on the official forums, where people are gathering ideas about the possibility of 'pvp items' which must be chosen so that gear in pvp doesn't matter. Then theres no real reason to raid in the first place, unless you just have to own that cool looking armour or something.

I can understand that Pantastic, hell everyone has a preference in how they game. All I can say is this, for what its worth, I myself am not in a guild and usually solo, probably for the same reasons you have, but to be honest I'll group or hunt with anyone who doesnt have the idiot factor drilled into their brain, so even though your minds made up on playing or not it seems, know that the community there is friendly and eager to play. With that been said, raid or not, feel free to come on out if you change your mind, hell I'll hunt with ya, same for anyone anyone else, so maybe in that apsect raiding and its reward wont be limited to any one group or guild but to anyone who wants it.

Ya Deodatus rocks as a community manager and really does a great job releying the information between the Devs and the forum members and visa versa. Deo's blogs are also the best sorce of official information and cool game updates on the site.

yep he was good (now leaving GnH) - hope the next CM similarly has a sense of humour...
Any developer who tries to claim that bringing a big mob of people into an encounter makes it epic deserves to be insulted. If they don't want to be called idiots, they should not make idiotic statements like that.
The quote says explicitly that they think that building their content to be beaten by reasonbly-sized groups would mean that it "doesn't feel epic nor does it present the players with any amount of challenge." It's a clear statement that they don't think they can make challenging content or content that feels epic unless it takes big mobs of people, and that they aren't going to be making challenging content for enjoyable group sizes (they don't even think it's possible). Apparently the only challenge they can think of is 'make it take a bunch of people so it's hard to schedule', which does not bode well for the potential of fun in the game.
Or if raiding gives non-item benefits, like special abilities.
