New Acclaim MMORPG

Check it out, even if you don't like F2P mmorpgs, i think it's a mix between good 'ol dungeons hunting and megaman battle network. Maybe not the best, but at least is a new genre. If this game fails, maybe we won't be able to expect much of the other acclaim proyect, 2 moons.

I wonder what Acclaim is thinking.  They should now that its too late to release these games now and make a profit.  Also with a F2P plan, its a little ludicrious.  I don't expect them to get out of thier bankruptcy with its current line-up.  Still I guess it depends.  Maybe they are planning to make the quick buck off them so they can fund even greater projects.  Here is my real cause for concern "Point and Click Action Martial Arts MMORPG".  That point and click will really inhibit the game.  Infact all they have to do to make it WASD is get rid of the point and click module since the engine it is working off of was originally non-point and click.

I hate point and click.. . you have no real feel for your charater.. I like to jump, move side to side, get behind somoene in pvp.. point in click is dumb..

Bots has a strong advertising presence in it. I've played it a bit and before the match there is a 5 second pause with a huge ad in the middle of your screen, which gets moved into the lower left corner and stays there for the entire match. They should be getting some good contracts there.

It's also a pretty simple game. A lot like gunbound, only there are just 3 base characters. While you can upgrade them, the upgrades are pretty simple and perfectly linear.

I don't mind point-and-click. If I get the option between that and WASD (or whatever), I go with PaC. I prefer telling my character to "go there" instead of managing 4 extra keys just for movement. I used PtC in guild wars and nwn2. I can't figure out how people manage to rest their fingers on 8 skills + WASD in GW.
I usually dislike jumping in mmo's just because it looks completely goofy and ruins any sense of immersion you might have had. I'm not a roleplayer but seeing a bunch of medieval fantasy heroes hop around like mario just rubs me the wrong way.

Living in norway, I usually get 200-300 ping to most mmo's, and laggy PaC feels a lot more comfortable than laggy WASD.

I used to play so many point and click games, and I agree in some situations Point and Click is good.  However, for an action themed game like on featuring Martial Arts "9 Dragons", point and click ruins it.  Also I remember the first time I played WoW after several years of Point and Click.  The whole first week, the only movement I would do is through non-stop jumping.  I jumped all the way from Camp (Starter for Taurens) to ThunderBluff.  Jumping is just one of those things that are a sign of the freedom you have within the game.

I don't see how anyone can not like bots. Its almost like a new genre... massively multiplayer online arcade games. I stopped playing it after a few weeks, but then again there really isnt all that much content. At its core, its a great concept, and I had alot of fun playing it. To be honest, I kind of have a desire to play it right now. Its casual enough to play on a whim, and I feel like its a very acclaim-like entry into online gaming.
