NCsoft and Cryptic have released a highlight movie of the upcoming free expansion to City of Heroes, Issue 8: To Protect and Serve. The video features scenes from the new Safeguard Missions, the updated Faultline zone and the new costume pieces and powers released as part of the veteran rewards program that is part of Issue 8.
Issue 8 has alot of Polish involved. Generally speaking the entire mission systems had a overhaul. Missions are tagged as Main story arcs or minor story arcs. Theres a great deal more variety of ways of progressing with the Police band radio. Running for contacts is a thing of the past now. The people like me who are mission whores and try to do them all will find them more balanced and better place. Combat is basically the same although there were some minor powers added and the costumes are flash but not something Id write home about. Its not worth writing home about because there already were so many good ones Should be a intresting issue, a good move by CoX team. Lets see what Issue 9 brings!
They were saying they wanted it up before Thanksgiving, I'm hoping for tonight. I think you get wings after your 15 month mark. Trenchcoats is earlier than that, 3 months if I remember correctly.
the vet rewards are based on your subscription time so if you left and now come back they will calculate the time based on total time of paid time in..so you wont lose the time you already had gained when you left..so reactivate your old accnt and you will gain the rewards..3 months is trench coats 15 months is wings..the temp powere "sands of MU" and "Ghost slaying axe" are 12 month rewards...but there is a list of vet rewards and time req. on the main site along with all the FAQ's...:)

Nothin' to do but doin'.
When does Issue 8 go live? I haven't played in awhile.
I'm thinking I might go back to see some of this.
Also, what are the prereqs to unlock Trench Coats and Wings?
Nothin' to do but doin'.
If they released it today and any unexpected problems surfaced, it'd mean a disrupted holiday for the support team and possibly the developers.
