24 GIGS!!!!!!!!

in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

I was just reading the new issue of pcgamer, and i was reading an article on vanguard: Saga Of Heroes,

and this sentence was read: i am going to have to start cleaning up my hard drive for this whopping 24 Gigabyte game. at that, my jaw dropped. i couldent believe it. 24 GIGS. HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!

    And not 20 gigs full of bad compressed unoptimised code image

    Yeah, 24 gigs is only positive if it's not a ton of uncompressed textures.

    24 gigs is only for the Beta version though, and I think Brad mentioned they were going to try and shrink that number down. If not, I've got 250gigs on my comp so I've definitely got room for it image

    Actually, he said the opposite. It's around 22 Gigs now and will end up 24 Gigs by launch.

    I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

    In fact, forget the SWG!!!!

    That has to be uncompressed, the game is still unoptimized. It can't possibly be that large at launch.. otherwise.. you're never going to have groups cause the fucking place is going to be so big.. unless they change server sizes.

    That will be around the launch size according to Brad himself. As far as commenting on group size, that just isn't true. It is extreamly easy to group with the existing mechanics, but they can always be better.

    I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

    well i guess with bf2142 out i can uninstall bf2 might be able to scrape 24gb from my current (60gb) hard drive

    but i think i might just get a new pc, some of thoose new intel dual core 3.4ghz (6.8ghz total) look immense might try and get one of thoose for january : P

    Out of 24 gigs, I would estimate around 18 is reserved for storing all those millions of rats you need to kill in

    i should hope not i really hope they do release 24gb finnished it will be the same mistake as eq2 too high min specs and you dont get enough custom, wow takes advantage of low min specs but character and gameplay,

     

    i am hopefull final release will be under 10gb (i will buy it if its 50 but i dont think many will)

    i agree with you guys fully, but since my computer is shared one, i probabally wont be able to free up 24 gigs with out being yelled at around every corner.
