Well, I went to Miejer to pick up my Kids Wii that was held for me and I asked the clerk I buy from alot about SWG and if they ever plan to carry it again.
Nope... I could not find it. Then I went to Target.. Nope, not avl in the store maybe online. Then I went to my local Circut city.. Nope... not avl in the store...
So this would maybe be ok except I live outside of Chicago in the burbs... not to say Chicago is a big city.. but um , Yeah.... it's one of the States biggest cities and when you don't carry a product here... then that says alot..when you can't sell to the 20 mill we have around here or so.
Best buy has two copies left and oddly they are not near ANY other Star Wars games... the guy told me that KOTOR still outsells it. So does Star Wars Legos II as far as Star Wars products go.
In a way this is sad, it really is... not for the NGE fans but for the fans of the game that begged them, protested, sent emails, asked, WARNED THEM, told them this would happen to the game... but they did not listen. Most of the fans of the NGE either did not know, failed or were not successful with the older versions... and that is sad sure, but they missed out on a great experience with a population and game with some depth and complexity.
I look back now and seeing my emails and posts warning them ... sure it does make you feel kinda good that you were right... but then you realize the loss factor and it becomes more of a dissapointment that you were.
I see all our posts, I hear all our rants, I see all the whines from what is left of the player base and just wonder if SOE is now happy. I know Mr. Smedley is not... no two ways about it, I know this for a fact. But with all the bullshit the current Dev team says, I think it is now in sunset mode and for the most part, it's done.. about 4 months over due or so but still. You will not see a expansion, you will not see a core game change... you will not see anything major again.
They made a real bad bed and now they are laying in it. Being right does not always make you feel better for those that told them not to do this... that is for sure.
I guess we can all hope for a new SWG with someone else at the helm and with a bit of integrity and balls... also some freaking common sense and insight. Obviously this time did not work out... no doubt but I do feel bad for those that planned like I did to stay in the game, have fun and stick with your same group, grow and enjoy the game...
Nope... greed and a whim idea with bad results proved that idea to be a flop --- GG NGE, you lost.... we were right but now look at what you have.... not much.

Seriosley, could it get more mainstream? We who played SWG probably
played it beacuse it was alot different and we thought it was alot of
fun.

This may be the reason you are not seeing it on the shelf much, I get around quite a bit in the Chicagoland area.

Lol, well not according to the sellers lol.
They just do not carry that product due to poor sales period.
I ask, no harm in that... I like hearing the sales persons comments on the game and what the real public thinks... so far it's right on track with what we think.

This is more of the real feel of it all...
They actually thought all of us would accept this sub-par version... they thought all would follow like Lemmings like some did.... they were wrong on a grand scale obviously... this is not a opinion, this is a fact.
More people left due to the NGE being so bad... it's just a fact plain and simple. They thought they could change and tell us what was better when in fact we told them not to do this and it would fail.
It fell on deaf ears and here we are... a year plus later and we were right. Great, now what? They lost millions, we lost a game and past time we loved all to the NGE. Now whats left is a small very accepting and almost blind player base that thinks this is a good product without issues.
This is why we are still here.... until this folds and gets a new life odds are most of us will be.
It is still just amazing that people trust, pay or even accept this product right now as anything worthy of thier time. I have learned one thing from this and that is that some people (While a small percentage) will accept anything and have lower standards then what I thought. This product is like a car driving with 3 wheels and was meant to have 4. I just have to wonder why people accept or let themselves be lied to? Some just look right over this for over a year and say "Oh yeah it's gonna get better, they are now listening to us", or my favorite -- "So is bringing back old things we had so bad?" ---- They just do not see the bigger picture or do not want to... one or the other.
It is still just one big mess and sad that it ended up this way thats for sure.

i asked about stock levels and have been informed all intend to keep on restocking swg!
allthough i would feel better if it was sold out as despite proving one point the other side to it is is it selling ?
