A revolution in PC Game production has started in Iran and nearby countries. In Iran more than 13 companies are developing games and some are in international class. I think it will provide the chance for a new generation of games in the world.
For example you can visit "Orient: A Hero's Heritage" website that is first RPG Game in the region at:

This game as I know will publish internationally so nothing to fear.

I'm Canadian so they can look at me all they want.
It sounds actually pretty big for a first ever RPG with things like branching alignment choices. I was expecting something along the lines of Dragon Warrior on NES when I went there. Not surprising though, the graphics don't look good. Here's a screenshot in PutFile so you won't end up in Gitmo.
"One of the major role playing features in the game is the possibility of a choice between the side of Light or that of the Darkness. The player will meet people, and befriend or fight with them depending on his alignment, which in turn depends on his previous actions and even thoughts! (i.e. the player will have to choose his path in his own mental realm when he hears his inner voice) The player will advance in strength, agility, etc. in order to grow from an aspiring young prince, to a renowned Pehlivan and magician"
And since I'm sure some of you are wondering, it seems set in an Ancient setting with local myths and legends. So no, you don't fight America and Israel.
As I said before, the theme and story seems like it could be interesting, but the graphics and game features don't seem to offer a whole lot we haven't already seen and done.
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

Did I say I did? I'm sharing my opinion and thoughts on it. Is that ok with you?

USA has set an embargo against Iran, so many international companies can't work with Iran
Sandbox-MMO
The embargo limits Iranian people but in products like Orient Game it has lower effect and Iranian companies can work with foreign companies

Agreed.

We're still selling them high tech weapons systems, so I think video games will be fine here.
I like your realistic view

I think governments must seperate political issues from PC games and other fun issues.
I read about story of "Orient: A Hero's Heritage" and I think it is a usual game and doesn't consist of any poltical points that makes USA or Europe worried.
So why limit such games from becoming international?!
Sandbox-MMO
Why would it be a problem to release such a game? Theres this thing called the internet..

I guess if Visa or Mastercard won't play ball with Iranian banks, you could always use a Chinese bank, or a Turkish one. HSBC has branches in both and should be able to assist you setting up web payment.
The Cayman isles is a nice place for an offshore bank account too.
Boxes on shelves however is where the big sales are. If you can get to some of the trade shows like E3, or the London or Berlin equivalents perhaps, you should be able to hook yourself up with international distributers or publishers, if you haven't already done so.
Very interesting.
I think these ways maybe possible, but I am not sure. Anyway thank you for your very good comment.
I think finally bringing a produced game to market is very hard for an Iranian game developement company because of all those substitute ways.

The theme sounds excellent to me. That's what I like most.
A bit of (Persian?) culture that I haven't yet explored.
Sandbox-MMO
Iran has very old and rich culture that unfortunately isn't well known to many people around the world and it is because of the fact that Iranian governments haven't tried to show Iranian cultural right potentials to the world. Iranian old culture is very peaceful and based on Justice, Humannity and ethics. Unfortunately the world pictures Iranian people in an opposite side.
Iranians were very powerful nation 2000 years ago and rulled large territories from Asia to Europe. They had many thinkers and writers and philosophers that are referred to in many sciences today.
I wish this game helps a little in showing the true face of a great nation because the story happens in Ancient Persia.

I have lots of Iranian friends here in Cambridge, there is a large ex-pat community. Lovely folk and a tight knit community, it's a priviliage to hang out with them. Iran has really liberalised in the last 10-15 years and many of them are now allowed to return and have had their land returned to them. But I think it is too late and that they have put down too many roots here.
My Persian history is pretty much limited to the cross over into ancient Greek history, (The Spartans, the Battle of Marathon, Xerxes etc.) a few video games like age Of Empires and the British oil wars of the 20th Century. I'd quite like to visit Persepolis.
Unfortunately our civilisations, however great and cultured, have a few too many conflicting aims to ever be truely comfortable with each other nationaly.
