WARNING! Beware IGG.com Spammers

Hi All,

Please beware IGG.com the developers of Voyage Century and Mythwar.  They have been passing email addresses to spammers.  I signed up for beta a couple of weeks ago and got flooded with spam emails.

I decided to do a test and signed up a further 10 accounts with brand new email accounts.  I started receiving spam within hours of signing up.  It's impossible for this to happen unless IGG.com have forwarded these email addresses.

They are also posting in other MMO game forums to promote their awful games, this is NOT fan bois posting these are coming direct from the Company.

Please steer clear of this organisation they're not reputable and I'd hate to imagine what they would do with your credit or debit card details - BEWARE!

    The IGG.COM company behind the Mythwar and Voyage Centuary has recently been having problems, their database has been hijacked by ciminals and the hackers have access to all our information, I believe IGG.com cannot be blamed for spam mail.

    If you made an account request for Voyage Century on their forum and gave your email without "anti spam bots" measures like bob@aol.com instead of bob (at) aol (dot) com, you deserve your spam.

    I registered for their forum using my email address, I have done that with hundreds of other sites in the past and never had this issue.  I had my email hidden in my account profile, the ONLY way the spammers have got my email address within hours of setting up the account is because they have been passed directly to a SPAM company by IGG.com.  I have proved this by signing up a further 10 accounts with all brand new email addresses and literally a couple of hours later I was flooded with spam.

    The news last week about IGG.com being hacked is bullshit, they are using this as a cover for their dreadful practices.  It has been proved on other MMO game forums that posts promoting voyage century have come from the same IP address as the website moderators.

    Please do yourself a favour and do not go anywhere near these cowboys, they're about as bad as it gets.

    Just to confirm - I have been registering on their NEW forums at voyagecenturyonline.com not on the IGG.com domain so there is no way this is anyone but them.  And the fact they are spamming other MMO game forums says it all - cowboys!

    I can't remember the username for my old account and haven't been here for quite a while.  I'm just really pissed at what they're doing and wanted to warn as many people as possible.  I have no agenda other than to warn you about these people, they are not reputable. 

    They're also calling themselves the 1st Nautical MMORPG which Pirates of the Burning Sea fans should be very annoyed about.

    At the rate they are going it will be the first Nautical MMORPG to be released, thus the first one out...

    EDIT: There is also a korean/chinese version that is already out... so Pirates is long gone

    Fyi, I registered at their website a few weeks ago and I didn't receive any spam.

    Fair enough - still don't trust them though. 

    They've been posting in PoBS, Ryzom, ATitD and Roma Victor forums, I just scanned and can't find any recent posts as they've all been removed.

    TBH - I'm pretty stunned people are prepared to defend them, you'll be thanking me soon when you find out the truth.

    Yes, they've been informing people about the domain name hijack and their upcoming game (Voyage Century) hence the posts on a lot of MMORPG forums.

    I'm defending them because they bring Korean MMOs to the western audience and it's free to play. Afaik, you dont.

    That would be fine if it was general MMO game forums like this one but it's not its on other MMO game forums and no other Western developers/publishers would dare to do that, it's totally unprofessional.  Do WoW post on EQ2 forums when they have a new patch etc?

    And if you see their posts its total promotion, they are just damn rude and I'm looking forward to their rapid decline.

    @ iggsuck: Do even listen to people? They've been attacked by hackers. Their sole purpose is to get confirmed e-mail adresses, which they use or pass on to spammers. IGG itself has nothing to with the spamming.

    Yes, I listen but you're not hearing me. 

    I registered on their NEW site the one that is NOT hacked and they have COMPLETE control of, it's NOT EVEN on the igg.com domain

    They are dodgy, obviously I'm the 1st to notice this but wait and see.  And what about them posting spam promotions in other MMO game forums - is that ok?  Is that something other MMO's do?  NO & NO, they are dodgy they don't behave like other companies and I'm just trying to warn some people - you'll see!

    Thanks for the heads up!  I'll be sure to think twice before opening account with them because I already get enough spam as  it is!
