Anyways sorry to bug ya with a nub question but with the new expansion coming out, would the veterans that play this think the expansion is newbi friendly or is it for the upper side of game ? well what does it actually lean more towards ? Ty
Part of it increases the average newbie starting Skill Point set from 100,000 to 800,000. Other than that, it adds a few upper tier ships and balances a few things.
Aside from those two things, from what I know of the expansion... I don't think the rest of the upgrades/updates really fall into either catagory since the line drawn between newbies and vets is pretty narrow.
Eve is one of the few games where you can be a complete and utter n00bler and have more "levels" than alot of vets.
Thats what I needed to know, going to give my best and hopefully this will be my new home. Also since my interest is with trading and making money, will the open pvp slow me to a crawl ? I would like to spend a lot of time just gathering and such and in the shadows build my warship.
I mean is it like while I'm out there getting what I need,do I have to always keep rotating my view to see if others are coming my way every second ? or can I go afk a bit and watch seinfeld reruns ?
There's so many changes to the dyanmics of the game that there's only a single blanket responce to the OP's questions: yes.
New characters? They will get some impressive skills at creation. It permits a new character to be more attuned to combat thus more worthwhile from day one instead of having to spend 4 weeks learning skills to "feel" competitive.
Last check new characters get near 850k skill points with at least 2 or 3 lvl 5 skills. The fighter classes recieve Frigate 5 and (racial) turret 5.
Praor me and you think alike, check my PM to you. You and I were like-minded players in Lineage 2 and thus it seems we are also like-minded players in EVE. I'm interested in EVE for the market like you, we should join forces, i can show you the ropes that i've tried to master recently, also, you may want to try PvP it is ridiculously complex, like my background in video games is PvP, i used to PvP in diablo 2 hardcore, so i got some balls, but the PvP in this game seems so bloody complex with different types of weapons for different situations and different ranges as well as different bloody ammo to go along with it as well as different special skills and on top of that there are so many bloody options.
I've been trading like crazy in the past 5 days of my EVE beginning in .4 to 1.0 space i haven't had any trouble but i'm a small sample size. Go Go 11m yayayaya. I mined like 1m worth while at work, i love this game for that. I kept minimizing and maximizing too .

Lol...so not only Seinfeld ,I can throw in a movie to.............Yup got your pm and I'm in.Expansion is less then 24 hours away,so lets make some money. Oh you do the pvp and I'm gonna work on the mining ....err just protect my ship and for god sakes....is it a restuarant or club ?????
I will have 2 accounts. one specifically for PvP and one for market. My market char, the main of my two mains i guess, will be a transporter/trader. I mine when I'm at work because it doesn't take much time/attention etc. I can't sit there and plan out trade routes, well i probably could but im not risking it. Also, during work time, ,all the europeans are gettng home so lots of action. You can mine in the high sec areas. I am not sure what skills you will get when you start, but there are different types of ore, make sure to click on "show info" for like everything so you can learn.
I mine massive scordite, but macro miners or other miners at work or whatever, take those, so next is condensced scordite then regular scordite. Most dense is better i guess. Look at show info remember, as you go to lower areas, at like .8 or .7 NPC pirates spawn at every asteroid belt or most of them, i forgot about that once and lost my ship while i was talking on the phone.
Also, go through the tutorial, best tutorial to date, think of L2's detail but better with an equally sexy voice.
What you may want to do is go to www.eve-online.com and take a loko at the skills and the player guide on the official forum, they help a lot. The NPC pirates at the asteroids are kind of easy, with a frigate equipped like crap, i can take em out easy. But take a look at teh guides. You will be in charge of the mining sector for sure. When I get my corp up.
But yeah baby, i can't wait till wednesday and stuff, i hope there aren't bugs. I saw pictures of the new characters and the skiills they got but i can't remember where i saw it .

Praor - the open PvP might work well, might not. It depends. If you're sitting in 0.4 mining Omber or 0.0 mining Crokite, then you're going to have to be watching "Local", really paranoid. Anywhere below 0.4 security you're going to have to be paranoid.
If you figure out how to make decent isk in 0.5+ (and mining isn't it IMO), then you should be pretty safe. Mining in 0.5+ is sometimes an afk activity (if you can tank the NPCs), but to be honest the isk return sucks (it'll be fine when you're still new). But then again, if you're manufacturing, all the components are avaliable on the market for probably cheaper than your opportunity cost of mining and manufacturing them yourself.
As far as getting attacked in 0.5+, it can still happen it just won't be direct PvP. For example, to scam people for their isk is fully legal, but no scam in EVE is unavoidable. To suicide gank someone for their valuable cargo in 0.5+ is technically allowed, but once again, it can be either avoided or survived by smart piloting or fitting.
