I read something a week or so ago in the Ryzom forum. It's a shame. There seems to be quite a few people here that enjoy it. They do say, however, that even though the company is going bust, it will stay open and be developed. Well, that's what they say, anyway....
There's a rather big chance the game will survive, even if the company died. In worst case (or best case to some), there is a community effort to buy and open source the game.
Even if the company went bankrupt, i'm sure the game would keep on running. because they have the best community in any mmorpg, and they will without doubt try to bring it open source.
Actually last time I checked Nerax's game engine or net code was free for non comercial use. All they would need to do is free up the assests, or sell it off to one of the bigger company's.
