North American RYL2: Path of the Emperor has been shutdown along with their website www.ryl.net However, TNI has just started hosting a RYL1 server, with help from some of the old NA RYL staff.
Its still free to play and now free of lag, so its better then ever. ^^ You can try it out at www.ryl.pf
Silkroad Online - 8 (liked the thief ect..) Runescape - 2 (sorry not a good word to say bout it) Guild wars - 6 (not an mmorpg actually, thats why i dont like it) Priston Tale - 10 (still love it and dreaming of the map and the Area where u needed to buy a ticket for)
Played more but these were the most important one for me..
In regards to RFO going free, there are many sites out there that will hand out free trial keys so you can play. I will admit that a trial is not an indefinite time period, but from past experiences with games that go from charging to free trials usually end up dying, or allowing the game to continue free,(to serve other interests, games, community) or possibly even handing out the code. So free? yes and no.
let's see: -rappelz-7 -cabal-8 -thang-8....for the many people its fun -mapel story-6.......becomes very boring -silkroad-7 -guild wars-9.......but too much to travel for armor if u wanna play emu i can tell you manny

Most of the people refering to l2 and other pay games have been refering to 'private' and 'emu' servers aka, non offical servers which are not run by the companies who made them or offically own rights to them. most of these servers are run by people for nothing, and have gained access to the 'server' side files through illegal means, emu's are emulated server side files made by people how ever, and i will not say its legal to run these because the companys who initality made the client for l2 and other pay games, still own the rights to the clients the models and so forth, unless they make a complete total converstion of the game, it's considered illegal and the owner of the rights have the ability to close any server down, any server that refuses risks being sued.
But as for the topic
Eudemons - 5 lasted me a bit, Shot online - 6 decent if you like golf i guess gives me something to do Conquer online - 6 pretty decent didn't like the hopping or how the economy is run Ran online - 5 Pretty good but the version i played had no people so i will not give this more then 5. Tricksters online - 7 overall good concept the english version is just lacking some content other then that pretty good Xiah - 4 This lasted me maybe.... an hour and i just couldn't stand not being able window, not being able to change resolution, and the overall bad quality of the gameplay and how major level became apparent in equipment Silkroad - 6.5 Graphicly this is great for a free game, gameplay wise. its pretty good even, but the grind... and dear god is it ever a grind. Put me down on this one, not only did you have to grind lvls but if you didn't know how to grind skill points to begin with, you screwed yourself into a VERY VERY long grind.

Mainly because it doesn't pretend to be something it's not. Simple point and click kmmorpg with all the standard features you'd expect.
