They may have finished early and the server could be back up - try logging in!
I wish my account was still active and i had less RL commitments so i could play again. Missing the game badly and am out of the loop with the new features of the expansion. However the new systems they're adding in will be cool - i imagine people have prepared a massive operation to gain control of those regions!
Other than that i'm most looking forward to the t2 battleships. Time to retire the Raven and get an upgrade...
Even if we cant log on for the next month im just exited about the countdown
I recently restarted EVE, so i've got a special treat waiting for me. +350K sp's.
Can someone tell me about the new ships? heard somethin about a "rokh"?
Waht do you mean by this? I hope you dont think you will be amde up to 850ksp as per the new charecter thing. Thats only for charecters amde after this patch.
Any character who has less than 800k skill points will be bumped up to 800k skill points i guess based on the profession they chose when making the char, i could be wrong, i read it on official forums i believe.

you did. actually a very lengthy dev log about it. all characters pre or post patch end up with 800k sp.
in other news that blasted fan is up. had to take down the mount and put up a new one even though they look the exact same the old one wouldn't fit . however now i get to sit and enjoy the nice fan blowing on me sadly this house was last owned by a contrator and the dumbass doesn't have a ground wire up there for me to hook to and i'm not about to cut a hole in the ceiling cuz knowing contrators there prolly isnt a ground wire up there somehow. which would explain why this room burnt down once before we bought the house...DO NOT BY HOUSES LIVED IN BY CONTRACTORS. they have no idea what the flip they are doing but think they do and end up burning your house down and they have friends that will pass it off as inspected without even comming to look. annnddd it's 1 hour 44 mins from now. the servers went down at 8pm my time yesterday and it's 6:06

And with no empty towns. if you wander off from your base in low sec bob or fix will come gank it
Before now when you warped to a gate you came out like 15k or something away from it. now instead of littering the world with cans and bookmark you can simply warp right to the gate.

Servers are supposed to be back up by 02:00 GMT on Wednesday morning, so in less than 2 hours.
Warp to zero is a new feature that allows you to warp to 0km of a station etc. rather than the minimum of 15km that you could previously do, saving you the short pedestrian-paced jaunt to your location outside of warp speed.
So to clarify, you don't have to warp to 15km anymore, but directly on top of the place you intend to go.

No graphics update yet, but from what I've seen it runs smoother so that alone is a plus
The removal of instas alone massively boosted my performance. I was really surprised, though I probably shouldn't have been. After deleting everything but my safespots and insta-undocks, I was getting much quicker load times after warping, gating, docking and undocking. Coupled with new client optimizations, things are looking up as far as that stuff goes.

About 30 mins now. Warp to 0 = tougher to gatecamp in empire, but I can live with it. Also 50% to shield and armour HPs means my Navy Apoc will be the ultimate lvl 4 mission runner.

At the fanfest it's reported (accurately) that CCP are looking to implement graphics changes "as and when" and could be in Revelations II (sometime near June 2007) or Revelations III (December 2007).
On top of this there will be the option to still run the DX8 version that everyone is currently using, just in case your pc is a bit too old to hack the pace of the new version. Atleast, i think we're on DX8, we could be on DX9 and the new version would then be DX10, but whatever.

Before i quote this, as it's quite long and might not answer your question, this details the graphical changes CCP are going to implement sometime in the future:
One question that was never fully answered was "when do the graphics upgrades go live"? No one would definitively say Revelations II or Revelations III, so we'll stick to what Dan Speed said in his presentation and say "when it's ready". It definitely will not be in Revelations I, though.

Graphically Leaping Forward
Dan Speed showed off the graphical plans of CCP to the eager audience, although regrettably he had no Vista (DX10) examples to display. He did have the upgraded DX9 ships and a host of other musings on ways EVE may go.
Soon, EVE will have three available graphical states. For those with ancient computers or a desire to play EVE on an old laptop, the original client is not going to be abandoned. However, for anyone who bought a new video card lately, the DX9 upgrades bring some of the latest tricks to the EVE world. Speed demonstrated a host of ships side-by-side with the ship they're replacing. For a game that consistently wins awards for its graphics, it was amazing how terrible the old ships looked compared to the new ones. It is the difference between plastic toys and believable space cruisers.
Speed also made clear that while some of the bells and whistles require more recent computers to run, they're not upping the graphical ante at the expense of performance. He argued that the new ships and client will actually be more efficient thanks to optimizations they've done.
In his presentation, he also mentioned that along with the upgrades players will have the ability to put corporation logos on their ships (which he showed off to rounds of jeers or cheers based on which logo the ship carries) and hopefully, down the road, chose their exterior colors.
Optimization was a key theme of his presentation. Their first goal in all situations is to make things faster. That doesn't mean though that they're not dreaming of new and wonderful things.
In reference to the [Windows] Vista upgrades, Speed mentioned that they are not so naive to think that the moment Windows Vista ships that the entire world will upgrade. A changeover on that scale can take years and that is why such effort has been put into the DX9 upgrades. DX10 will allow even more possibilities - he especially seemed keen on what it would let them do with planets and other background - but for now there is content in the works for all levels of hardware.
Over the course of the week, we heard several possibilities as to when the DX9 and DX10 upgrades would come down. Likely, they'll be part of one of the Revelations expansions. Speed would only say "when it's done."

Now to answer your question about when exactly the Revelations II and III expansions are coming out.....
Revelations II and III
Before he went off into the very theoretical, Richardsson did start with his feet firmly on the ground as he looked at Revelations.
Revelations I, as you know by now, launched on November 28th (if it's deemed ready). Beyond that, Chapter II is slated for early next summer. The main focuses of it are optimizations and warfare upgrades. Chapter III then comes towards the end of 2007, but is not clearly defined. The logic is to use Chapter III to react to I and II. This is to say, expand those areas that are well received, fix things that are not and make sure the radical changes to the game stay under control.
