Ive been a table top player of warhammer and warhammer 40k for about 5 years now and i would love to see an mmorpg for 40k someday too. It would be really cool to storm planets as a imperial Guardsmen just to see what my table top minitatures are going through, WOULDNT Anybody else ???

I've been a big fan of 40k for about 5 years now as well...I never learned how to play the damn game, but I've always enjoyed modeling and painting for fun
someday I'll buy a rule book instead of just models to paint.

green stuff?
I like Tau and Space Marines...I HAD the beginning Tau army set, the origional one before they appearently changed the rules, my set had two squads of kroot, two squads of Fire caste, three crisis suits, and some gun drones, the new set only has one crisis suit, but comes with stealth dudes)
I got rid of them all when I moved to Indiana though, while I was in Indiana I bought myself a squad of space Marines and a Predator tank, those are all that I have right now though...and I screwed up the predator during assembly so that it looks like the turret is in a fixed position and couldn't move even if the thing were real...I don't want to rip off any pieces so I just kept it like it was...the paint job on it is good, but the turret bothers me.

Yeah defenitly War40k would make an uber mmofps.
It's better be hated for who you are, than loved for who you aren't.

Screw the Emperor. It's all about Chaos, Tzeench (sp?), Nurglings (my children).
And the best of all, the Tyranids. Scary mothers.
My brother has played WH40k(for like..6 years), Epic 40k(3 years i'd say), Warhammer Fantasy, Space Hulk (he gave that to me, great shit), etc. He had Space Marine army, Chaos Marine army (he gave me those..im the evil bastard to his good side), and a few squads of terminators for both. He'd paint those mothers in fine detail, and i swear to god everytime I played against him with my chaos marines i got my ass kicked by his terminators. Those ****ers hurt like a mofo.
If WH40K was made into a mmofps/Dowish, my brother would have an orgasm, and i'd instantly be hooked and maybe i'd be happy in the pants a little too.

Well so far the poll that I put up is in favor for us 40k players. I wish there was someway to get a huge list of thousands of names together to give to GW and Mythic to make our dreams come true. If anybody knows anything on the inside please let me know because i just cant get over the thrill i would have playing this in an MMORPG style game. Also for all you 40k players out there, WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE NEW ELDAR UPDATES !!! I would like to know what you think because im currently stuck in IRAQ and have heard just a few things about it.
What would be far more interesting to play would be an MMORPG version of Necromunda/ Inquisitor. Although your pretty much limited to humans only you still have an exhaustive catalogue of weapons, equipment and amour to make it insanely customisable, from simple flak jackets to spyrer armour, from ratskins to full on power armour. And even without races the multitude of gangs or Inquisitorial affiliations would make for a great political climate.
Oh and for the record Ratskins FTW!
If they decided to make one, i'd ofcourse try it - But really, it wouldn't be very WH 40kish at all.. Just a bit.. meh.
Further on, WH 40k isn't balanced for "One on One" fights. So, either you would limit it to two fairly equal armies(Spacemarine vs. Chaos Spacemarines anyone?), or you'd have to breake the law. Who in their right mind would play a Guardsman, when they could play a huge Spacemarine that's 10 times the pwnage? Ork?! Why? Why play a Tau Firewarrior, when you could play a Battlesuit guy?
WH 40k is balanced around "point cost". Translates well into RTS, not so well into MMOFPS/MMORPGs.
Just as a side note, thanks for what you are doing over there in Iraq. I wish you the best of luck for having a safe return home.
I would play the game, I just don't have the time to get into a tabletop hobby. When I have gone into WoWC stores I have enjoyed watching people play though. Looks like fun, I wish they would have had that around when I was back in elementary school. I only had D&D available to me back then.

Oh, and world domination is easier if you have a taser attatched to the president's nutsack, why do you think he has such trouble speaking
I see exactly where your coming from about the one on one battles. It wouldnt do to well in that aspect of it. However, Since its a mmorpg ,1000 flashlighted guardsmen could do some damage lol. Of course you would have order vs chaos so you would have your spacemarine chapter fighting along side your imperial guardsmen company. It would make for really interesting guild fights and alliance fights i think. I definitly see where your coming from and i think it still could be possible i just think it would have to be a strong guild vs guild thing. it would be alot of hard work to do and it might just be wishful thinking, but i guy can dream cant he?
You make some good points about the way WH is balanced...nobody would want to be a kroot warrior if they could be a hammerhead driver right?
I think that doing what planetside does would help to aleviate this problem, you don't see nothing but guys in MAX suits all the time in that game, and if they go by ranked certs, I think they could help the problem a great deal...or at least make it so that not everybody was running around as an elite or heavy support troop type.
