I was staring at the homepage today, like I frequently do for no reason and noticed the rankings for Best, and most anticipated MMORPG..or just MMO. What I noticed, was that neither had a perfect 10...I'm not entirely sure if this is because the number of votes for each is pretty much even...or each game is missing something that the players want. So, what am I getting at? Well...I want to know what you players think is missing from MMO's or MMORPGs? What do t hey need? Or have but should be improved?

The best game i've seen was Guild Wars that's my opinion.

MMORPGS lack meaningful player interaction with others and the game world.

This to me is the horribly unrealized potential of the genre.

What we need is a truly dynamic world where player actions affect the game.

I think I see what you're getting at. What you mean is, if 1 person finishes a certain quest, then no one else can do that NPC's quest because it has already affected that NPC's life. Or the intended person of the quest.  The only plausible way I see of this happening is to have something like Final Fantasy...where your actions in game determine what happens with your life...which would mean, on an MMORPG, people who go seperate ways or they'd band together at the start.

  • Guild war is pretty good.

actualy what I am saying is do away with such contrived content as quests and let player interaction and goals (cooperative or competive) create the content of what players do, not some npcs or mobs for grinding.

Ooo like burning down a whole forest to see if anyone replants it for the welfare of the planet? ;)

My opinion for guildwars? Not enough freedom...
