  The primeval is a little too spiky for me but the ancient is just a varition on Druids and I don't really like the longcoat.

  Rangers get some of the more lackluster choices of armor (in all chapters).  I still think Obsidian is the best.

  In Nightfall, the Ancient armor is nice. The rest are really really bad. It's a choice between "Super Pimp" or "Ugly spike dude".

  And if your Ranger is female, Ancient is STILL the best option.
