First off, remember I coined the phrase first.
A lot of the Vanguard fans dislike SOE, and rightfully so, but reject SOE's involvement as an issue. You claim SOE is just publishing and won't have any power over the release of Vanguard or it's production value. Bullshit. Mark my words, the fact it will be on station pass means they will have a lot to say about it's production and release.
Those who are willing to forgive SOE suffer from "battered SOE syndrome". You are like battered wives who keep going back to their brutal husbands who claim they will change and not hurt you again. You deny the reality of SOE's history of constantly changing games like SWG and EQ2, because you don't want to face an uncertain future of yet searching for another game to play because you had invested so much affection for Vanguard prior to SOE's involvement. Wake up or be prepared for another black eye.

i want in on this one, im sure that i have enough posts to be able to count, lol. and yes, this is the stupidest post on these forums, well maybe a close second. theres one in the "Official we hate SOE" thread at the top thats a bit stupid....er. but Samuraisword, your words have been marked. lol, i love reading these predictions that turn out to be false and stupid. like the post that i made reference to in the "official" thread, he predicted that SOE would buy out Sigil in 6 months, that was 6 months ago, kinda made him look like an ass.

As far as I can see, the overall quality of the people posting at this site has degenerated into a bunch of fuckin smacktard haters. I haven't seen a decent MMO discussion here in months because of the morons like killroy and VESAVIUS that now permeate these forums. All it is now is fanbois vs. the haters. Some of the decent posters here like Shayde probably havent been around in a while because they see the same thing.
This is my last post here. I won't pretend anyone will miss me or care. Go ahead and flame away. I won't be checking the replies. Its just not worth my time anymore. If I want to read shit like what I see here nowadays, I'll go hang out at the EA BF boards.

It all depend on Vanguard successes or failures. It is a business, and if they are not successfull, than SoE won't be willing to support the game past a point, which they will have to bargain or then assume the cost of supporting the game alone...
I am pretty sure SoE will have formulae to favor themselves as to determine if Vanguard is successful enought or not, but will SoE presses the matter or not is another topic. If SoE judges it will make good money by leaving everything in Sigil hands, Sigil will have total freedom. If SoE feels that Vanguards is eating more ressources than helping them, they will have an ultimatum and either give ins or go independant again.
Saying SoE has or not a big impact on Vanguard is like forecasting weather. They prolly sign a contract, the contract must be in a way that as long as Vanguard is generating X revenue it is free to do as it please, and Brad is absolutely sure it will...and this is something we can't say, none of us...yet. But the day SoE is "losing money" with Vanguard, everything will be in jeorpardy.
I am pretty sure that IF Vanguard bring the raid-free servers, they will attain a LOT more success and retain a LOT more freedom for a much longer time, but that is just my opinion.
PS: Don't mind the Vanbois or the Hatebois too much...at least they are only a portion of the peoples here.

A significant MONEY return. As long as the monetary value of Vanguard is there, SoE will remain afar. If anything, SoE haters will grant SoE more power over the game, since it may break the "benefit" mark SoE and Vanguard have agreed upon. SoE agree with Sigil on some stuff, and unless Sigil has monetary issues, they can't do squat to enforce anything on Sigil...but if Sigil is having monetary problems, then SoE gains power.
It is ironic, but SoE haters would prolly please the very peoples they despite the most at SoE. Since the peoples they despite at SoE are those who make "Design decisions", not financial decisions. So they may hurt the SoE financial aspect, but they will grant more power to the folks who make them hate SoE in the first place...giving more power to the peoples they hate. Really, ironic...and Iconic if I may add!
And saying that Vanguard will be a financial success or a failure is like weather forecasting. I am pretty sure that with raid-free server it would be whooping the high floor and be free from SoE for at least 5 years, if not more. And despite all the Vanbois claims that raid-free servers can't happen...EQ was the first PvP-free game. Hoping for Vanguard to be a raid-free game isn't that illogical, it just need a little "Brad's beating", and some devs might be working on that as we speak...we never know! Sigil is a team, and a team is always subject to the will of...the team. Saying that raid-free servers can't happen would be extremely ignorant; it may be unlikely and SOME members of the teams might be more resiliant toward it, but I doubt that every member of the team would deny such a brilliant idea for long, some would prolly join-in and support it, using the specific servers rules to further convince the remaining of the team. "Brad isn't a god", and for all we know, he could be the first to switch cloak and work on convincing the team after seeing his sins!
However, without raid-free servers, I would agree, Vanguard would fail. It NEEDS these raid-free servers, a LOT more than it think.
I think, in the F.A.Q., it would take about 1 paragraph to add these servers with all the necessary information toward these, under the specific servers. Nothing in all the FAQ can let you think that it would never happen, on specific servers. Just like they could add ironman, test, pink or green servers just as easily.

You didn't coin anything, I have heard this posted countless times on the SWG forum.
Secondly, SOE never did anything I didn't like to a game I played. I wasn't there for SWG, I was playing EQ at the time. I wasn't there when they put in PoP in EQ, I came in after and I like the game just fine. I was playing UO when EQ released. I didn't care that UO put in Trammel because I absorb change and I like things to be different, as long as it doesn't totally suck.
These are video games we are talking about. If you don't like them, stop playing and go read a book. Your opinion is childish.

Funny, Vanguard will be a success and have no chance of failing. You are in the minority my friend, and if you noticed in the Vanguard official forum it is being supported by many fans comming from EQ, EQ2 alike. I highly doubt your foresee of Vanguard failing. Heck even some new players will subscribe to it.

I will be extremely happy however if you whine that the overwhelming majority of servers, the raid-free, are getting the bulk of Brad's attention. Even when he award 25% of his time designing silly raiding stuff for you server, I would be happy, waiting for him to focus more on the CORE players he try to appeal...the non-raiding core, that is.
I can't decide which of these two realities will happen, but it is one of these two (unless they add raid-free servers in the middle of the course, in which case it is even worser than the lack of raid-free...raid-free need to be there at release). Of that, I am sure. Peoples where telling me I was nut before WoW release, I was talking in MILLIONS of subscribers, and EQ-ish folks where laughing at me, saying that making Diablo games wouldn't help them make a MMO...and see where Blizzard is today, it last a LOT longer than I though, I may slightly overestimated the raid-hatred factor that kick in. But why, oh why, do you think WoW isn't even on the top7 on this site? I will help you...it is related with raiding, if the raid-hatred can kick the best-seller MMO out of the top7, what do you think it can do to a newborn game; in it infancy?...I really hope for the best for Vanguard, and I know that it is POSSIBLE that they will switch cloak and put raid-free servers, otherwise I wouldn't bother...but I know this is not a lost case, and I want a good MMO and to help these Sigil folks at the same time, fellow BioWare fans they are. EQ main success is: PvE servers. Now the market evolves, the next step is raid-free servers...will Brad be visionnary enough to lead the way, or is leading twice in a row too hard?

Let me ask you this.....ARE YOU IN CB for this game? if not be quiet and go troll somewhere else. I can tell you this much its not going to happen without approval from Brad or BUtler. Also i will point out the feedback tells a different story from players, just go some other forum and talk about your dream of NO raid server to other developers who gives a damn about you. It's like talking to a wall here.
