    www.aspereta.com  it is still under constuction. looks like a verey good game. a very fun and unlimited things to do 2d mmorpg is www.nexustk.com .try it out and take a look at aspereta's site

    Well it depends, if you are a hardcore rpger a real RolePlayer not just hack and slash shit i advise you to try out Furcadia, here you create your own personage what his background is everything is unlimited but its non hack and slash or skill system shit. Its what rpg was meant to be : You Play a Role

    Dunno why anyone would make 2D mmoprgs now but I guess if you are small time and making them free it is easiest to program and cost much less to make.

    Then again  big names like L2 and wish are making their games PnC /shrug.

    I would say UO before they made it 3D if you can call what it is now 3D was the best 2D mmorpg.

    www.realmserver.com or even Ragnarok ow www.darkages.com are great in 2d and why do they mad 2d game because alot of the old scool mmorpgers like them and not to mention some people cant play the 3d game because some people have a medical condition that will give them motion sickness from playin them i for one love 2d games still lot easier on my computer and i wont run to the store and spend 100's for blasted upgrade to keep up with todays games.

    ya its PnC but dont let that discourage u... it does a VERY good job of it... never before could i litterally be front line in a boss raid and eat a bowl of soup at the same time ^^... also there is an optional WASD movement but trust me, u'll be using PnC... its just soooo much easier
