I'm starting to think that because the world is so huge, no one really knows. ^^  At least on Aripostle I've tried figuring it out, but it's nigh impossible.  I even asked a CSR once and they couldn't give me that information.

At least enough to slowly, but surely get Nevrax out of the red Numbers and onto the plus side of the bill. image
Noone realy knows appart from Nevrax themselve, my guesstimate wuld be, after the recent Silan/ R² Rush, at about 30.k more or less a few hundred or a thousand, "unevenly" devided about the 4 Servers. And growing by numbers each day image. With the german community probably being the smallest and the two interantional (1 is brandnew) Servers keeping a balance with the french one, wich seems heavily populated.

ummm...I play..thats 1 at least! lol.  Dont know really, most companies dont release figures.  But its been consistantly growing since launce...and moreso lately i believe.  Most RPG's (except WoW)  dont have that kind of increase 2 years after launch.

I would say alot since Europeans/Americans/Australians/South Africans/etc all play on the 2 English speaking worlds.  There is always people running about where ever you go, be it one of the main capitals or in the middle of a jungle. No possible way to tell. ^^

    Apparently not enough....

    Bankruptcy anyone?

  • TorotoroTorotoro Member Posts: 84

Bankrupcy is for the huge debt that Nevrax had contracted during 5 years, since the beginning of the Nevrax team.
The game is in good shape. But not enough to get rid of the debt. Investors put more than 7 millions of dollars in it. They want their money back now. So Nevrax have no choice but selling its game.

    Yeahimage

It´s rather strange indeed, it seems that bad publicity is still the best publicity. *LOL*
For some very, very strange reason Silan (the Trial Isle) now seems more packed with Players then ever.
Even the german one, wich has been rather low on population to begin with. image

Desaster still seems to attract a crowd it seems.image

But well, as long as they complain loud enough and well behaved enough that they´re not able to play fully, they´re fine with me, for any new owner sees their money. image

*shrug* Well, lets lean back to watch and wait.

They are trying to sell it, so the game is running and the players are there.

I think the reason you see a boom in trial players now, is that they removed the level-cap again, for as long as the sale for the game is going on.

That mean you can play for free during that time, and level all you want (and ofcourse also get all the training you like, if you earn SkillPoints enough image). When the game afterwards has been sold, and everything comes "back to normal" you'd be able to subscribe with a character full of levels image

400-800 ppl max... the game has a real low population.. you have more action on the newbie island atm then on the mainland... newbs like the game from what they see on the new newbie island but normaly quit playing a few weeks later after they see the mainland and realize how boring the core game is.. a few hardcore newbs stay like 2-3 months but not longer usually. To be honest... better try out one of the modern MMOs.. this one is a dying MMO.

p.s. : And sadly most of the newbs dont change their game reviews after leaving the game.. so the 8.3 user rating here gives a totally wrong impression of what goes on in the game.

As an alternate hypothesis, and I'm just throwing this out there, you don't know what you're talking about and the game wasn't for you. Due to you not particularly liking it you've decided it must, for some reason, be awful for everyone.

Ryzom isn't for everyone, that's fine, but it's not empty and the gameworld and live events make it one of the most satisfying online games I've ever played.

    Ships not gone down yet.
It´s being sold to another company.
If these new owners kill it and loot the corpse for its valuables, then you may say it went under.

And if so, yeah, then it´s realy a shame. image
