Lord of the Rings Online: Exploring Middle-Earth

Turbine's Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar has released a new "Exploring Middle-Earth" feature. This one takes a look at the beautiful "Rivendell's Hall of Fire".

 

Among the many rooms and tranquil places in the wondrous home of Elrond in Rivendell, the majestic Hall of Fire is a unique place of wonder. Illuminated by an ever-burning fire in its tremendous hearth, the Hall of Fire is a legendary retreat, a place where weary travelers can rest on soft chairs in shadowed nooks, or ages-old Elves can steal away for hours of quiet reflection undisturbed. In times of celebration, the tranquility is lifted and the great hall becomes a vibrant gathering place for lively song and storytelling. It is said that old Bilbo Baggins himself, now a resident of the House of Elrond in Rivendell, often frequents the Hall of Fire for a bit of writing, and, truth be told, even more bits of napping.

In The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, the Hall of Fire awaits those brave adventurers who have crossed through the mysterious forests and darkened hills of eastern Eriador to arrive at the protected valley of Imladris along the western foot of the Misty Mountains. Here can be found the great wisdom of Elrond and the Elves, as well as numerous quests to undertake and skills to be learned. This massive chamber, designed to reflect the Elves' great love of beauty and nature, serves as a central meeting place within Rivendell – a place to share a story with friends, learn of local happenings, or begin the next stage of the dangerous journey against the darkness growing in the lands to the north.

    The screenshots look amazing. I've read some neutral and a few negatif points about the screenshots of hall of Rivendel but for me it looks great. Dont think we can ask for better graphics than what they are producing now.

    Lord of the rings is awesome but like i said on other forums will turbine be able to please lotr fans and will they sometime down the road actually add evil races insted of these monster tokiens i mean actually being a evil race is more fun then tokien if you think about it.

    Personally I can't bear to see Middle earth besieged by assniffa and his friend LegolzzXXXX.  Turbine is engineering the game to appeal to these Asshats, the Role Players and Tolkien fans have been given the finger.  My prediction is the game will be less populated than SWG is currently.  The Asshats will log in to create their character named Stridersauce dance naked in Hobbiton for a few days and quit shortly after the 30 free days are up.  The original Demographic won't bother with it just like the majority of Star Wars fans don't bother with SWG.

    The only bright spot to all of this is the four developers that walked from the project when Turbine decided to shift gears (Read as jump on the WoW wagon)  are now working on Biowares upcoming MMO. Hopefully soon those of us that have been waiting for a game that doesn’t cater to the sub 84 IQ crowd will be made available.

    Have you ever even been on the forums? This game mayy not be the most popular but I expect it to be running for a long time. It will be made up of many rpers. Anyways don't judge a game before it comes out and you play it.

    There's gonna be "asshats" in every game, you can't blame that on the devs.

    I think the game is gonna be great and will run for a very long time.

    Yes most of the RPers and Die hard Tolikein fans are long gone and are replaced by Current WoW Raiders.

     

     Anyways don't judge a game before it comes out and you play it.

    I never judge a game before I play it.  Take that as you will.
