Never-Ending Lord of the Rings

Does anyone else wish that Lord of the Rings was a never-ending series? I just hate when such a good series comes to its end because it is so good. Everything good comes to an end.

    You do realize that only the books and movies end? The game can't end or the fun of the game would end and people wouldn't want to play it.

    MMO's don't end until the money from subscribers is gone. Turbine will keep releasing content until that day comes which I think will be many, many years after it's first released. Just releasing all of Middle-Earth will take a long while.

    There was talk of a forth age which tolkien never got round to doing. This involved the world being at relative peace but then the gondorians becoming corrupted (not sure how) start practicing dark arts and there is a huge civil war between mans different factions with hobbits and the remaining dwarves and elves caught in the middle.

    A fourth Age would have definitly been awesome but oh well. We can only hope that they will possibly slip it into the game content at some time or place right?

    They (the Developers) have stated they will be free to do as they wish after the "end" of the main storyline.  One particular interveiw witth mr Steefel (which made me cringe) even mentioned time travel.  So you might get a chnace to go back and see Smaug.  They are definitely hoping that the game will last far beyond the initial 3-4 years of launches they currently have planned. Should be an interesting ride.

    I think that the game is going to be done very tastefully. I believe the game will last for years easily. The reason some people think the game will die out will die out fast is because of the pvp, and story issue. That being said the whole story issue was solved as Turbine adding things to places that weren't touched a lot in the book, and they have the rights to do as they please after the end of the original books. So there will be plenty of content that none of the LOTR fans have scene or heard about. The pvp is a touchy subject, but the pvp they have incorporated so far seems to satisfy all. From what I read they are making it a MPvPvP type deal. These couple of reasons lead me to think that this game will strive for years. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that LOTR has a HUGE following that will play it soley for the fact it's LOTR! ^_^ Can't wait for it to finally get here and see you all on it.
