Try making long, thoughtful posts with correct spelling and puctuation. I went from 1 star to 5 in 10 posts back when I started posting here. It's not hard to do, really.

no its just the system...i myself dunno how it goes yet...just go around the forums and i'm sure u'll find something out. and heck, maybe they join in chat and post reviews more that u do.
But mmorpg is self obsessed, so their so called random engines favor more active more starred people. I like stars, they follow around my head whenever I fall down
Originally posted by trigger190 You shouldn't worry about it, I bet 99% of the people here don't even look at the stars under your name, at least I don't.
Can't beleive I read the story about the crappy landlord =(
The rating system goes mainly off your contribution to the website. I'm not sure it's such a big issue, but if you're really interested in raising your stars, hop on over to the poll section and start clicking.
"Any posts of yours that had to be deleted will cost you 5 rank points (there are only 100 total). To prevent your posts from being deleted, please obey our Rules of Conduct."
Well, since those posts you just made are pretty much useless to this forum, they might just get deleted, especially if its for the sole purpose to gain more stars.
It would be best to just participate in the forum and your rank will increase, if its that important to you.
First off dumbass, the rankings update only ONCE A DAY. It happens at like 2AM EST or something. Secondly, you are spamming which is in violation of the rules. Espect all your spam posts to be deleted and for you to lose 5 points PER POST DELETED. Lastly, if you're hung up on the star ranking, go find another site to post on. We don't need your bullcrap here.

Hax0rz?
No, the coefficient of friction between your posts and MMORPG.COM is too low. The power that your posts are generating is being transformed into rotational energy about a stationary axis instead of linear momentum.
Ive been up to 4 stars then droped as low as 1 star. Seen 5 stars with 20 posts and others with 1000 posts have 3-4 stars.
I honestly think the systems based on:
1) log ins per day
2) posts per day
3) length of post
4) participation in surveys and rating games etc. (not sure on this area)
Note: Your stars drop if you arnt active. (mine did)
My opinion is the systems junk and tells you very little about the posters. Take the 2 posters above me for example: Fion (two stars) 3 yrs + member w/300 posts. Ohaan (four stars) new member 90 posts.
I personally thought it's based on the content of your postings..
For example if someone posts the typicaly common question 'is X game good' and someone posts 'No this game is crap/IT'Z L33T' then these people wouldn't be noticed, but if somthing posted their reasonings for or againest the game, that the poster would be actknolaged therfore would be rewared by rank increasment, and FYI it's not on spelling thats for sure my typing is poor at best

Do you seriously think the forum mods go through every post on this site and grade it? It's an automated prossess, most likely the ratings are based on how much you logon.

Well, atleast when someone says "a long post" you go the distance...
< 3 Stars with 13 posts. It might just be you.

In layman's terms, you're spinning your wheels. See http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/strip.php?item=ETDrag for help.
