WW2 Online or SOR?

This swg refugee has come to the final desicion.  What game should i choose out of those 2?

1. In ww2 online will i be instakilled at 50000m by some fps nerd when i first log in or is it noob friendly?  How is the grind?

2. Does SOR have player housing or player cities?  How is the grind past lvl 30 for the 2 combat trees? (I played the trial)

Both of those games are of course very different. I found WW2 Online to have quite a steep learning curve but a little patience and reading up via various tips from the playing community help a lot. I found it to be an excellent game with plenty of battles raging back and forth, sometimes for many days.

I played Saga of Rysom a little during beta but I think the game has changed a lot since then and a lot of people rave about it. Apparently its one of the few games where roleplaying is quite common. I also liked the way the animals moved in herds and ran off when predators started hunting them, the most believable creature ai I have seen to date.

If I am not mistaken both of these games have trials available at the moment [rysom's one is unlimited while you remain in the starter areas.] That will at least give you the opportunity to try each game and see which one suits your playstyle the best.

    You have broadband right??

    Try both!

Start with WW2,  I enjoyed it for a bit.  Keep in mind SOR's future is questionable.

(Oh and,  yea you will be instakilled by a mile away in WW2 but that's just how the game works :)

    I enjoyed WWII online alot.
Expect to get killed from 500m by an enemy rifleman. Expect to get killed from up to 800m by an skilled enemy sniper. Expect to get killed from 2km+ when you're driving a tank, depending on which kind. You can be an FPS "geek", but you'd probaly still get your behind kicked. Mainly cause WWII Online is quite different than most 'mainstream' FPS's out there.
When i started playing, i had an kill/death ration of 0.25. After 3-4 months, i managed to get near 1.5 K/D all over, 6.70 K/D versus all armor in my trusty StuG3G. Patience pays off.

The "grind" can be bad, depending on your mindset. Getting from Rank 1-6 with your army persona is piece of cake, and might take a month at most. Getting from rank 1-6 as air persona is a slow task, to become a great pilot might take several years - The learning curve is huge. Getting from rank 1-6 as a marine can take extreme amount of time.

The thing is, though, than you can have fun right from rank 1. Depending on how far you are in the campaign, a rank 1 can use quite alot of vehicles. In the begining of the campaign, a Ju-87b req. rank 3. When tier 2 is introduced, it only takes rank 1.

hmm.. well i actually subscribed to saga of ryzom and mainland is amazing (if you join a good and active guild). also alot of the community are SWG refugee's..lol alot of them. I haven't played the game for a couple months now..because of moving, so i'm not sure what its like now.. with the whole bankruptcy. When i did play.. well the world.. and its wild-life beats anything out there right now, there is a grind.. but what game doesn't have that? besides.. good guilds have these little crystals that give like double exp.. and the'll help you out..etc..etc. Here's a video made by Ema: Restless Child. its probably the best video i've ver seen of saga of ryzom.. has alot of footage of the mainland.

umm.. i never tried WW2 online, so don't know much about the game, i did check out some video's.. yeah and the graphics kill it for me. if your looking for a good fps.. tryout battlefield 2142's multi-player demo. You gain ranks.. and then are able to unlock abilities, weapons, and equipment. its pretty addicting.. lol there's like a billion awards for the craziest stuff.. and badges, medals...etc..etc. i really enjoy it, its something to do while i wait for some good mmorpg's that i like to come out.
