FFXI Wasnt as Customizeable as I hoped...

I enjoy the game, but why couldnt they add a little bit more customizing to the game? I weep in my sorrow.
i play on australian servers because racism is acceptable there

You can customize even more from the in-game menu-----config.

Hmm, depends what kind of customizing you mean
If its true that when you drop a cat it lands on its feet or if you drop toast it lands butter-side down... what happens if you strap toast to a cats back and drop it?

Can some one give me an insiders opinion of the game... and also could you compare the classes to maybe the Everquest classes if thats possible.

I know that the customizing in FF in not the greatest aspect of the game and not just with the way your char looks but with the armor as well. I really did like the whole dye thing in DAoC but guess what that doesn't really make the game any more fun or any less fun. It really does not bother me at all but it is just up to peoples opinions. I have to admit I have seen many a Galkan with the same face as my char.
! But in the end this is still the most fun MMO I have ever played and even though they lack in customizing for me they make up for it in gameplay and the Auction House has to be the coolest idea for an MMO since the actual idea of MMORPGs. Maybe not but still pretty close.
I agree with the lack of customizing of look you have with your char. but I was more disappointed with the lack of class customizability.
I got to about lvl 35 with my RDM and lvled up a few more jobs, then I got bored realy bored playing became a chore. I saw no reason to lvl anymore, to see how my char would turn out in another 20 lvls i just looked at one of the JP players. Everyone use the same weapons, amor, spells ,everything. The resaon all the armor looks the same is because IT IS! Its was very sad.
I want to customize my skills and stats i want my char to be mine and not a "ok at this lvl you can get this spell"

Man, does anyone know when they're gonna make an expansion or anything? I remember hearing it was gonna be February '04...but...yeah. That's also when they were supposed to start PvP too I think (ew).
Just curious...because, I'm trying to give my boyfriend incentive to resubscribe. His evil parents kinda canceled...well, he kinda needs a job anyway. lol...

Well, I don't know when, but I do know that they are making one.
I personally dislike the entire interface of FFXI...despite being available as a PS2 game, the only reason to make the GUI have the navigation of a platform game is poor planning. The ease of control and greater degree of possibilities using a PC should have been taken into account in the designs. If I wanted to play a clumsy PS2 game, I'd have purchased it for my PS2.
