This game could be a turning point for all MMOs out there.

They are impletining so much stuff in this game.

You get to choose your own God and if you betray him/her you will suffer, but if you do thier bidding they grant you new powers.

This game looks extremely neat.

I personally can't wait for this game. Also I love ancient Roman and greek history, although it's Roman at the moment.

I agree. First I was waiting for age of Conan but then I found out about this game. I've been waiting for an mmo like this that combines ancient history with mythology. I cant wait ! When the nation vs. nation pvp comes out in a future expansion it will be even better ! I look forward to playing as a Gaul and sacking Rome with my Celtic Horde !!

Nice thing is, they are implementing a lot of features, but not without extensive testing.  They've put crafting on hold, for instance, until they can design it the way it needs to be to enhance the game.  Too many developers try to do too much and never get anything quite right (DnL anyone??)

Seems this one will be solid out the gate, and the lead developer (Stieg Heglund - Diablo II, etc.) is amazingly immersed in the mythology side of things.  Very intellengent guy, and I assume the game will reflect that same intellegence.

    Don't sweat the small stuff...

I cannot WAIT to see and try out this game!  My only concern thus far is "Will leveling up my character be enough at the beginning?"

I am the type of MMO'er who likes to soak in as much of the content in multiple areas as possible. I suppose that comes from my old pen& paper RPG teen and early adulthood days.

Alot of the fun is in the journey.  I like to craft, explore, have diplomatic challenges, talk to the community, etc as I grind and quest my way to usefullness. I am an admitted craftaholic too...so I hope they implement a strong crafting system that is also USEFUL to players earlier rather than later.

I certainly hope so, I defnitely need something to 'balance' my subscription to CoX.  If it can live up to the hype, I will get to enjoy great combat AND finally some depth.

The community for this game is unbelievable ontop of having a solid gameplay experience in line. I can not wait for beta to begin so everyone will be able to test it out!

I think this game will be a blast to play as well.  I love that a game is finally using the Roman Empire as its setting.  They'll defiinitely be some kick ass gladiator battles going on this bad boy.  Can't wait!

    That is good to hear.

IMO, even if this game only lives up to half the hype, I will still be able to consider playing it long-term(I think it will be THAT good).  2006 was a let down for new MMOs for me and my current MMO(CoX) has had uninspiring updates for the past year.  I can't wait for a release date and system specs so I can start preparing my computer.

I've been following this game for several months now. Been apart of the forums for about 6 months and read them all the time (Though hardly ever post)

I really can't wait for this game to be released finally. The guild I am apart of just sit around and talk about what the game will be like. At this point, I am so excited that if it was only half as good as I hope, I would probably still love it :P

Plus, the ideas for expansions are enough to keep me in game. I see this as being a great game out the gate and one that will get much better as time rolls on.

    Glory to the Roman Empire!

I'm looking for a cool new MMORPG for some time now and this is the first time I actually took a good look at G&H.

I must say, I'm amazed! Not only by the looks of the game, but also by the different gameplay.

First of all, I like the idea of a MMO without any elves and dwarves. The setting is totally different from others and should be a warm welcome to many players.

Then there is the gameplay factor. I hope the teamplay-thing is going to do what it's supposed to do and that the AI of your socalled teammates will be at least descent. Other than that, its very refreshing and a blast to play like that.

I also looked at some of the movies on the site. And if these are actual ingame battlemovies I'm even more amazed. Not only the charactermovements are great, the way the creatures attack is amazingly funny to. It looks like they put in a lot of work in desciding how the different sizes of creatures should attack instead of just using the same movements on different creatures/races.

I haven't seen everyting yet, but I'm thrilled by what I've seen so far.

It really offers something new. Not like all the mmorpgs in the past several years which all follow the same pattern.

Yeah. As long as people keep accepting the old, companies will keep on producing it.

The only games that seem to offer something new are G&H and AoC. While I do like the look of AoC, I can't give up the thought of playing in Rome!

Althought i really like the GnH universe and i will play whatever is happening (could become my MMO) but i want to quote TCoS too which seems to be the most original MMO now on the market, IMO. The universe is totally new, created especially for the game, a new combat system based on skills with combos, a quests system allowing to the player a strong involvment in the storyline  (maybe to much : XP is strongly depending on this). The devs have spoken about a interactive politic system with 5 houses but nothing sure for the moment, and a very basic craft system. I can add some PvP zones and a RvR in negociation...

It's just one step from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Lets hope its the turning point...Because there are 12 others that want to be that too.  I just wonder if G&H is "revolutionary" enough to be that turning point.

  • blackcat35blackcat35 Member Posts: 479

I'm guessing COX is COH/COV.  I'm really looking forward to this game too and comparing this game to vanguard feel this game is really the better game to look forward to..

I hope to get into beta because the beta for auto assault I tried clued me into the fact the game wasn't that great, so if this game is going to flop then at least a beta would help clue me into that fact faster....

I have high hopes for this game and plan to try it out.....hoping for the best
