Im gonna pre-order one of these games but i can't quite decide. In the mean time is horizons worth playing for a month???

Well I don't like either Lineage or CoH so, I don't recommend anything. IMHO is that Horizons is currently only average MMORPG. It have great concept - but current implementation is very far from this "dream game". Devolopers are trying to lure players to play it for giving different kind promises - and funboys believe that game is going to be this "dream game" after next "miracle patch". There is much more better games currenlty in market (like DAoC, AO - and maybe even SWG) - try them instead.
PS: If you try those 7 days trials, remember to cancel subscription, if you don't like game.

CoH is probably going to be the best MMORPG of the year (to date).

Well Horizons would probably be fine for 7 day trial problem is there is not much high level content. All the people who do like it ...just check their psots and you will fidnm that they are under 20th level. Its unfortunate cos i think its better than most of the new betas that are out atm butthe devs are just too arogant and the patches and new stuff is just pathetic.
Lineage 2 is very boring its just click on a amob and watch although visually stunning.....maybe if u like pvp
COH looks very good they've thrown away the old mold which all the new games seem to be following and has been done to death. Out iwth houseing crafting and all the old fillers that were originally there to pad out and in with the fun side of things. My mate has just entered beta and as soon as i have my disk i will too. He likes it and he's played a few.
If nothign else he says that the devs are very hadns on and noone can quite believe the quick response to queries problems etc..........please outpost GET ME MY DISK !!
Root canal surgery without pain relief rather than play Horizons. CoH isnt full retail yet so cant compare.
I'm not sure what this thread about City of Heroes and Lineage 2 was doing in the Horizons board.

Played in L2 beta for about 2 months ... in my opinion, it is the most boring mmog I have ever played. I kept playing because I didn't want to make a hasty decision; I might as well have though.
I have been in CoH for 5 days, and all I can say is that I haven't had as much fun from the start in a mmog since my very first one, AC (and the latter was so much fun mostly because of how new the type of game was at the time).
CoH over L2 all the way (though I suppose NC wins either way, since both games are theirs

I have played neither... But here is my thoughts anyway.
CoH has had rave reviews and everyone who plays says it's a totally great game.
Lineage 1 is ranked almost at the bottom of the "Game List" and not many ppl really say it's all that great. I have heard more than a couple say that it sucks, where I have heard nobody say that CoH sucks.
So going by that, I would say CoH. Lineage is a Hack'n'Slash just like Lineage 1 and every other single Korean MMO ever made. I think CoH is too, but it's also something totally original and not the same midivil crap every other single game is. LoL

Fascinating, I've been on the City of Heroes forum for almost 3 years and haven't got a clue what you are talking about. They've been doing a great job with the members there.
The only people I can imagine getting upset there are the ones who want full pvp in CoH. They do get a lot of whining from them but it's certainly not bad handling of potential customers to keep telling people that something will not be added when they've said it dozens of times already.
If you are looking for pvp CoH isn't the way to go. I think they've said there will be an arena added but that's it. They have also mentioned villians in an expansion but they haven't said (if they even know yet) how they will implement it. I really doubt they will make it full pvp even then, they seem to want to keep the game friendly to people who arn't interested in pvp.
I pre-order COH for the beta. The way they are doing the beta pre-order thing is just horrible. The person who pre-order the game long ago should get in the beta before the people who just pre-order the game 2 weeks ago. Randomly picking show that they are not paying attention to potential customers. I'm also in the Lineage2 beta which will be coming out the sametime as COH, but they give the beta access to the pre-order more than a month ago. The open beta also turn out as a desaster. By letting people who live in Asia (not potential customer) come in and play the NA OB is just simply not paying attention to the NA potential cutomers. You should understand my point now.
While I have played both, I would say one must do research long and hard on how each game is played. See if that would be your style and meet your needs that your looking for. Both games are truly different from the other, look on these forums, search web and more searching on the games website. You would be amazed at how much information you can gain, just by researching. Also, find trailers of ingame footage if possible, cause everyone will have their own opinion weather bod or good. The choice is really yours alone to make, so don't go by others opinion of any game. Learn to research as much as possible and I think you'll be alot happier.

I am a HUGE fan of pvp but I have to go with COH.
I'd love to say L2 is the game to play but like some other people here stated it has to be one of the most BORING games I have ever played. Visually it's stunning but wow..... such horrid PvE. I can't imagine having to level up in that game just to finally enjoy the pvp and even that is questionable. With their combat system I am guessing the pvp would be extremely lame as well. Do NOT buy this game without testing it first somehow.
City of heroes on the other hand is a TON of fun and I would recommend the game to anyone. Of course the first game that comes along that is even remotely as fun as COH and has pvp will pull me away but I expect that is months or more away still so I will have no regrets buying it.

But PVP in CoH would be the COOLEST! That sucks
