    Hmm, well considering that the Earth warms up and cools down all the time, without any interferance from our pathetic contributions... If there are any issues, they would have occured even if we had done nothing to affect the greenhouse gas level. Unfortunately, most people take the above factoid to mean that pollution isn't a problem, it definately is.

    Funny you should ask, today when I was in the gym the TV was showing Oprah Winfrey with her guest Al Gore, who was showing her a slide show of all these pictures of melting ice with lots of wonderfull graphs and pie charts, as Oprah just gazed at him with a stupid look on her face..I'm sure her audience ate it up and now considers Al Gore among the greatest thinkers of our time.

    Of course I care. It's already affecting my generation, and will affect the one's after us.

    But the planet warms up and than cools down all the time. And will always continue to do so.

    But I also agree that Pollution is a major problem. Along with over-breeding the human race and running out of room for everyone. Food shortage and etc.

    I do care about global warming, you can already seeing how it is throwing weather patterns all out of whack (once again giving rise to my belief that weather reporters are one of the least needed profession on this planet.  If you need the weather go look outside... then again this is coming from a Californian.)  While it may not effect me adversly right here, right now, I do plan on having children.  I do plan on loving them as well, so I care how their world will be when they come into it.

    There's already a 10 or so solutions to global warming that most scientists believe would work.  They haven't persued any of them because no one's sure if it's real or not.  So I'll let you know if I care or not when I know if it even exists.

    I can't 'care' about things that I am not directly responsible for.  If I 'cared' about every problem facing the world, I'd die in a huge bundle of nerves and greif.

    Now, do I support global warming?  Well, involuntaraily I suppose I do.

    No, no I don't care about global warming.  I have a feeling that this is something that is a natural process of the earth.  The earth warms up, cools down, stabilises, then does it all over again.  I DO think that pollution is a big problem.  Mostly because I don't want to be 80 and breathing in air that is no better than sticking my face right in front of a tractor trailer's exhaust pipe and inhaling.  Nor do I want my kids, should I ever have any, breathing that kind of nasty air.  Or drinking water that's the same as drinking bleach.

    I went up to the mountains a week ago and was amazed at how awake I suddenly felt from breathing almost completely clean air.  Not only that, but there was NO sound at all if you stopped walking.  And it's amazing how wonderful that is when you're incessantly exposed to some kind of noise every moment of your day.  It would be nice to see that happen more often in the "regular" world in the future.

    well there is a theory of how mankind went from the stoneage to building the great pyramids of egypt and making the pyramids in peru and such, that some other alien race out there was going through "Global Warming" and the only way to prevent it was to cover their planet's atmosphere with Gold, and to do that they went looking through space for other planets, comets, asteroids that could be mined for gold. When they came upon Earth they used our primitive stone age ancestors almost as slaves to mine their gold for them. They taught them everything from the basic simple mathematic equations to cutting stones with lasers. They would make love with the stone age people and have an offspring to be known as the "Star Child". Any logical guess is any heroglyphs that were made there were plenty of pictures of people pointing straight up to the sky. Where did you come from? They pointed up.. not across the ocean or the desert. Did the aliens who come help make the pyramids as landing strip or as a central meeting place?
    So as I was saying if you would like to prevent "Global Warming" lets advance in technology, and do the same thing that could have happened to us.

    I saw sumwhere the earth produces like 81% of the pollution itself, we only do a small part to that.

     

    Whya re we blaming ourselves? We should get the World to stop polluting itself!

    yes, absolutely. But unless the major countries contibuting CO2 emissions do anything about it, then there is only one option and that is to prepare for the consequences.

    2. Is it cause by humans? I don't think so.
    3. Should I care? sure why not.


    The thing i that makes me 'fear' the "global warming is cause by h00mans" crowd is that their 'solutions' involve essentially crippling economies. We should definatly explore new sources of energy, new technolgies and all that jazz... but there no sense in just outlawing all kinda of crap to do it.

    The thing that makes me laugh everytime is the fact that every weather event is caused by global warming.. no joke, in the same week on yahoo.com, they had a "ice melting caused by global warming" and a "ice growth caused by global warming" articles. this was a while ago.

    Yes, I care. Sadly, there is very little I can do about it. Even if I stop using gas, electricity and never drive a car, it still wouldn't make a diffrence.
